The work was fine, but they didn't have a clue how to use the Angies List Coupon I bought. It took a long time to figure that out, and I had to contact Angies List to prove that the service was already paid for.
They gave me a loaner car, which was a nice benefit, but the car was horrible- dirty and noisy, not what I would ever drive. Not the best customer service.

I purchased a Groupon to get two oil changes and tire rotations. I was able to get an appointment the next day. I waited while they did the work, which was done in a reasonable amount of time.
As part of the oil change, they did an all-over inspection of the vehicle. They recommended some repairs that would have totaled around $900. In March, we had the car at Toyota to have some work done and they told us that the work that O'Brien's said needed done was unnecessary. I was glad to hear that, as you can imagine, and feel confident that if there was a problem, Toyota would have told us it needed to get fixed as it would benefit them. Made me a little wary of O'Brien's.

"Thank you for taking time to respond. We appreciate your input. At O'Brien's West we perform a complimentary 27 point safety and maintenance inspection with every oil change. We feel that is our responsibility to point out to our customers where their vehicle may need maintenance or repair. Your Toyota had a leaking PS pump which should be replaced. Leaks have a way of getting worse with time. In accordance with Toyota’s own maintenance requirements your vehicle was due for timing belt replacement at 90,000 and 180,000 miles. Also due by mileage is a tune up, fuel system / injector flush, cooling system flush and transmission service. Shocks & struts are good for 50,000 to 60,000 miles. (Your car is at 190,000) And your check engine light was on. To avoid possible major problems that should also be addressed. It may be as simple as a lose fuel cap. But, if something more important goes wrong you will not get a warning if the light is already on. In the end it is up to each owner as to how they want to maintain their vehicle."

They did a great job and had it out in an afternoon. I like the work that they do and enjoy talking to the team at O'Brien's. I will go back to them in the future.

Hated it is an understatement. I purchased a groupon to these guys for 3 oil changes a couple of months ago. I did my research on google and saw they had a pretty good rating, so thought I would give them a try. I mean.... what could hurt right? I mean, I only live less than a mile from their shop and thought what a convenience!! I didn't even know there was an auto shop there! Called in and scheduled an oil change for that Saturday and they were super friendly, stating "no problem!!" Took my car in, dropped it off overnight since I was going to be out of town. I called them around 10 or so (they close at noon) and they told me they probably wouldn't be able to get to it in that day. WHAT IS THE POINT OF SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT???? The gentleman was pretty rude on the phone, but they did end up getting my oil changed that day and gave me a diagnostic of my car stating the cabin filter was extremely dirty and my license plate light was out. I went in with my boyfriend and friend just to make sure there would be no conflict and O'Briens were super nice and friendly. When I got home, I did a little more research and instead of reading the POSTIVE reviews, I read the NEGATIVE reviews and saw some disturbing things written, yet thought I was being a little unfair in judging them. Completely trying to push that in the back of my mind, I decided to get my cabin filter changed, have them re-align my tires, and change my license plate light the same time I went in for my 2nd oil change. Super friendly, very nice, I was pleased by my visit, yet had a very unsettling feeling about what might go wrong down the road with my vehicle. So I have 1 more FREE oil change and I will not be returning EVER!! I went to another auto repair shop due to time constraints and I'm glad I did. The owner of the shop brought me out into his shop and showed me out of concern that the power steering fluid cap was not on, just laying there underneath my hood and my break cap was MISSING which is extremely UNSAFE!!! Contacting O'briens is a waste of my time as there is nothing they can do to make it right. I got what I paid for and it is not worth me spending one penny more with them NOR sending anyone else that I know there way.

"Thank you for taking time to review our business. Your input is important to us. Let me try and respond to your concerns. We are open until 5:30 PM every weekday. On Saturdays we close at 1 PM. As far as appointments the best analogy I can give you is that it's similar to a doctor's office. If you have an apt for 10 AM for a running nose and 2 patients come in with serious wounds, the running nose is going to have to wait. Sorry. We would never close without getting all of the appointments done. According to your review you came in 2 more times and we were "super friendly and very nice." You seemed to have enjoyed the experience. I don't see the problem. The Groupon campaign has been a big success for us. In our defense we are a new business. We are still trying to get it figured out. As a result, early on, we sometimes got overwhelmed. I apologize again for that one bad experience. Did you actually contact us about the "missing caps"? I don't remember that. We would of course replace both at no charge. You can bring your automobile anywhere you like. I encourage to go where you are most comfortable. Thank you again."

It went OK, it was leaking again when I took it home. It ran rougher as well. I had to take it back on Monday to refix the gasket in the transmission/differential - the gasket they used failed.

Also, we don't want to overwhelm a customer with a long list of problems on their first visit. I'm sorry the gasket failed. That does happen sometimes. I used a Groupon on my last service. They are a fairly friendly shop and they really spend the time with customers. They do a good job explaining what is going on with my vehicle and anything that may be coming up as well that I might want to pay attention to. So, they communicate well and are friendly.
