One day his 2 workers were at my house doing a two hour job, but they were there for four hours with no transportation. They had been dropped off by the owners son, who left to get some material. The two workers had no way to get lunch, so I loaned them my car, (as I was busy in the house), this went well, it's just the fact that I had to provide the transportation for their lunch.
The contract was written for: tear out and pour 14 X 12 patio and build a 6 foot fence with a double gate to go around the patio. As Bob and I talked I decided to go with a four foot picket fence, which he agreed to. At this time the fence seems to be okay. The contract also states that the fence would have a six foot wide double gate, I got a single gate four foot wide, not what I wanted but agreed to.
The wood slats for the fence were cut to four feet tall when the workers finished there was quite a bit of slats left over. I asked the workers to leave them and they said that Bob said to take them and I could talk to Bob about it. I think I paid for those extra slats, but unfortunately I did not ask to see a receipt. I was glad the job was finished because I was expecting out of state company, so I did not pursue this issue. I also noticed that the workers stepped on my plants which were next to the fence.
Another day the workers came for about an hour and said they had to leave because they were going to Bob's girlfriend's house to put in a fence.
When it came time to pay the balance, Bob tried to charge me $350.00 more for the extra slab and fence where the trash cans are placed. I told him I measured the fence and the slab and the extra was included in the contract and I told him about the other issues, the car loan, workers leaving to put a fence in for his girlfriend and the workers trampled my plants. Bob said he knew none of this and agreed to drop the extra $350.00. Now seven months later the concrete is cracking so bad that it may have to be replaced. I have tried to contact Bob, but he does not return my calls. I think he is very unprofessional because of these issues.
When our driveway was installed he sent hit (smokers) team to put on the lacquer Finnish at 12:00 pm in 100 degree weather. When it turned white because of a cold snap he blamed it on the lacquer then proceeded to do it again the same way. After 6 months of back and forth promises and let downs Bob finally sent his son to strip it to the base and start over. His son being inexperienced acid blasted my porch and hit the walls and windows with the debris. I had to call Bob to tell him to correct it. All the while there was a list of in house handyman chores that we needed done. The list was NEVER touched and I have no less then 6 text messages of me asking him and him promising. My last text was never replied at all.
