I purchased a coupon for $49. As the the review stated there is no way they are going to clean the system for $49. Final price was $600. The two guys were on time, and went right to work. Question I have is why is every wood surface in the house covered in a layer of dust/dirt. Did they clean all of the stuff out of the ducts and blow it into the house?

I bought a Living Social Coupon for air duct and dryer vent cleaning for $49, for services they normally charge $350 for. I don't really know the quality of the work they did - I do not notice any difference in air quality, but it wasn't that bad to begin with, so it's possible that they did a fine job in regards to that. They were supposed to show before and after pictures of the ducts, but I did not get to see after pictures, though it's possible that they just honestly forgot. My quibble is really with two things - they tried to give me a hard upsell for over $750 of additional services, even telling me that doing the work listed on the coupon alone would make everything worse without all this additional stuff (ie, stirring up dust and dirt that my a/c would then blow into living areas without these extra services to remove it). I for one do not have an extra $750 laying around. If what they said is true, this should've been communicated upfront somehow. I had them only do the work listed on the coupon and so far I have not seen what they said would happen. The other thing is, after they left, I turned the a/c back on, and it now the hvac system has a loud whiny whistle that was not there when they arrived. :( So now I get to shell out more money to get a repairman out here and see what happened.

I guess I should have known better. I paid $125 which is usually $350 for the thing that they did. But when they got here it ended up being $900. The guy who came here was friendly and he did a good job as far as I know because the house is usually so dusty and I can't take it anymore. As far as I can tell, he did what he said he would do but I would never buy one of those offers because they told my husband that when they get here, it is not going to be just that.
