Both Dr. Dirks and Dr. Rentschler are competent, caring vets who truly love animals. The front office staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair with an itemized bill given upon payment. They offer emergency 24 hour service, but luckily, I haven't had to use it. I did have to bring 2 of my cats there for an emergency during office hours and care was prompt and effective. Those same 2 cats have some chronic health issues and this clinic does their best to help me keep my and quot;babiesand quot; healthy while also keeping costs down. One of these cats developed problems that took three months to finally diagnose but the doctors helped to keep costs down by not charging me for the repeated office visits. I was only charged for the actual tests and treatments. My kitty is now healthy and has only had one, short, relapse. Also, after every visit, I receive a follow up call a few days later checking in on my cats to make sure they are doing okay.
I began using this clinic when I was new to the area. Even though I now live over 20 miles away and other clinics are closer, I still choose to make the drive up there.

I've switched my 3 cats vet care to this clinic about 2 years ago mostly due to convenience as it's very close to my home. Since doing so, I've been totally satisfied with the care given to my 3 "kids." I believe the vets there (2) are very professional in every way and truely care about the health of my cats. They are also community conscience as they offer a discount for farrel spay/nutering (sp?) in most every case. The front desk personnel are always super nice. I also took my last dog for annual care there and was again totally satisfied with their services. The Clinic offers boarding services but I've never used it so can't report on that aspect but I have used the grooming service once since it just started and I'm totally happy with the lady doing it for one of my cats, a long hair. The price is also lower than any service I've used in a 35 mile area around Spirit Lake. The clinic had a problem years ago but I don't know if it was even the same vets there now and I'd honestly recommend anyone to check them out and give them a try
