About us
Originally begun as the Norfork Furnace Company, Jacob Kalin founded the company known today as Kalins Indoor Comfort back in 1921. His sound Sid Kalin joined the business after WWll and since 1976 Bruce Kalin represents the third generation to join the family business. The company expanded to Vermillion, SD in 1983 and added fireplace sales and service in 1990.

Every other place I called was two weeks out. They didn’t want to even bid it. It’s been an unusually quick warmup with almost no spring. Everybody’s backed up, but Kalin’s came out within a few days. Very professional and upfront home specialist helped us find a unit to match our needs. Since we have two air conditioning units, he told us that it would be about two weeks until the install because they were servicing homes with no air(about 30). We appreciated the honesty. It ended up being only 10 days. Unit works great. Thanks Kalin’s!

They do an excellent job. They come twice a year then if we have a problem they come out immediately anytime day or night. We pay a little extra fee for it but that's ok. In the middle of winter, I want someone to come out day or night and fix my furnace. We don't get charged overtime or a premium for coming out even in the middle of the night. They will call and let us know it's time to do a check up and get us in. They are very good about that. Pricing is right in there with everybody else. They call just before they come and say they are on the way. The come pretty close to their time too.

Fast and friendly, the tech quickly identified the minor problem and fixed it. He also identified another potential issue but did not pressure us into a costly repair at that time. Outstanding customer service throughout the entire interaction.

Twice a year, professionals service our A/C and Heating unit. We prepay for the service which gives us discounts and after hours service at normal price

These guys are fantastic! Worked me into their schedule and got me fixed up in no time. Fernando the tech was so good to work with, friendly and professional. Explained everything before he fixed it. Great, fair pricing. I won't use anybody else. Great experience!

It went great from beginning to end. The salesman knew his products and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. I can't say enough about the crew which came out and installed the new system. We bought a Lennox system and so far everything runs great. Our gas and electricity bills have dropped a little bit as this system is far more efficient than our old one. The house seems to stay at a more even temperature and hot/cold spots have disappeared.

Of course we discovered this at the beginning of the summer's first major heat wave. We waited longer than we'd have liked for Kalin's to have a technician available, but under the circumstances that was to be expected. What impressed me was the willingness of the tech to make time for us at the end of a very long day. He was extremely friendly and professional. I would certainly call Kalin's again.

Kalins installed a lennox heat pump for me about a year ago while we were adding on to hour house. The price was fine, better than most. The install went great and all seemed well. The unit ran all summer with no issues. Winter came and the unit became very problematic. I had several issues over several months. It took multiple techs to finally get it straight. They took good care of me and everything was under warranty. I don't have a lot of faith in the lennox product line however. I would recommend them as they do stand behind their work.

We worked with the salesman Scott. He was quick to come out to the house to give us the estimate. He also was always on time and easy to get ahold of with any questions we had. I am unsure if the price was competitive as we didn't have any other estimates. The installers were on time the day they were to be there and completed the install in one day. They cleaned the area and took all debris with them. The installers gave us information about running, cleaning, and maintenance prior to leaving. We love the look of the fireplace and Kalins was able to custom fit the insert to maintain brick arch surrounding our fireplace. I also loved that the price was exactly to the penny of the quoted price. No hidden fees or unexpected add ons!

They did a very good job, and explained everything well. However, the price was way out of line for the service that was provided. What was required was that our pilot light hole be cleaned out. It took about a half hour, and no parts were required. The charge was $232. I've had similar service in another town, and this service was more than double the price I had paid in the past.

called Kalins and had somebody over within 30 minutes ... guy was nice and very friendly and explained everything to me step by step . there was a piece of insulation that had blown inside the blower from one of the ducts .. No more bed vibrating yea .. he check ed everything and also replace filter on humidifier which was causeing the runny noses and scrathy throats ... Little tweaking here and there and furnace was good as new. Very resasonable price and will do business in the furture . Thanks Kalins

The tech came in and assessed the problem. He recommended a new air conditioner in the near future, but I was not able to afford it at the time so he did some maintenance and the unit worked wonderfully for the rest of the summer!

Notice the air conditioning wasn't cooling, I contacted serveral vendors and was told 1week out, I contacted Kalin's and was given a same day time, the tech arrived at the time and performed his work in a timely manner
