Contractor was given written/oral directions for job. House owner was not on site due to work obligations so specifically requested photos and updates on progress by email. Contractor sent exterior house photos showing overall house progress. No emails or phone contacts were made except for billing emails that detailed dates, hours worked, materials and billing totals only. No job details were ever supplied even though repeatedly requested. After repeated email requests for details on why job was going over verbal estimated cost and completion time the contractor was told to stop work. Specific directions were given on winterizing house. Upon my return in the spring I discovered: 1) Roofing (shingles) was left 1/3 undone on house 2) directions to extend exiting roof were ignored and contractor built a new roof over the existing roof. 3) directions to use existing structure when possible ignored and new built 4) directions to use on site materials ignored and all new materials purchased 5) interior workmanship of exceptionally poor quality - building new roof OVER existing roof and tying structural support of new roof into the old roof. Contractor's poor workmanship is forcing me to tear off the brand new roof to remove the old roof as well as resetting bracing.
Description of Work: Rebuilt roof and supporting exterior walls on 2/3 of house. Roof/shingle entire house. Winterize house with sheeting and house wrap for future siding

Contractor brought 3rd man on day one and two. Contractor had stated he could take my job because material was all available. - 5 material runs to lumber yard and $1100 we're actually required. I inquired each day about project and if it would be completed on time. Contractor stated each day (1-4) that it would be completed on time. Day 5 after I made two trips to lumber yard for needed materials (2nd trip still required even though I had specifically asked if we needed anything else) I asked if job would be finished by end of day. After contractor states "no" I tell them I will not go past 5 days. Contractor never once stated why job was running late. After stating I would not pay bill until the job was done or the end of the month the contractor agreed to charging for original 2 man/ 4 day job and completing the work. Contractor completed most of remaining work in about 4 hrs but refused to complete 1 item and also refused to do final walk around inspection of work.

Complete soffit work 3. Flash junction of house and garage that was to have been done last fall 4. Complete roof extenders and shingle 5. Install 2 skylights 6. Install window
