I have a 1976 Century OMB boat which needed the seats (6) and motor cover recovered due to age and deteriation.  I came across this one-man shop in Milford, IA. and after doing some checking found out that he worked at the old Stylecraft company which closed in 2011.  Usually everyone around the Iowa Great Lakes just goes to another well-known, but expensive, place in the area for all upholstery repair (boat, car, furniture).  I took my boat over to his shop and met with the owner, Paul.  We talked about what I wanted done and he quoted me a price of 700.00 - 750.00 for the recovering and 200 to 250.00 to have the Century emblem embroadering done by another lady he knew on each of the 6 seat.  He then jumped in the boat and helped me take the seats out which I was hoping he'd do but didn't expect him to do so.  I told him to take his time as I was putting the boat in storage for the winter.  I got a call from him about 2 weeks later telling me the embroader would only be 150.00.  The next call about 10 days later told me to come over an pick up everything as it was all done. I expected he'd be done sometime in January 2012 but he had it done within 30 days and he also rebuild/replaced or strenghten all of the wood in each seat and engine cover and didn't charge me anything extra.  The seats and engine cover look absolutely fab. and I highly recommend everyone to give him a chance to at least give you a quote.  I didn't get any quotes from anyone else so I don't know how much the difference would have been but I'm sure I saved a good chunk of money and totally got my money's worth from Paul.  I'll go back whenever I need any upholstery work done.
