Betts Lawn Care

I had called six other yard services, finding their names on bulletin boards and online. Three never returned my calls. Three said they would come "take a look" to see what they would charge, but it would be around $100, $125, and $200. I turned down the $200 estimate out of hand.. Only one of the other two actually did call back ,a week later, to say they'd driven by and the job was too small. We never discussed where in my yard the plot was, so how they could make that judgment beats me. Never heard from the third again. Later, I saw an ad for Betts. and I decided to give it one more try. I called, gave the competent-sounding young woman
a brief description of the job--to till flat a very lumpy garden space of about 300 square feet-she quickly told me the cost would be $60 and we set a date and time. On the dot, the fellow who would do the tilling knocked on my door. I was pleased, but when I saw the tiny tiller he'd brought, I was immediately worried. This was obviously a company just getting started. I continued t work elsewhere in the yard while he started the tiller and set to work. I kept hearing the tiller stop and start again, stop and start, and I imagined he was having a hard time. I was thinking how to say "it's okay, that little tiller is never going to cut it." After less than 30 minutes, he called me to come see how he'd done. I filled in "so far." To my amazement, it was all done, the whole 300 square feet, and done well. He showed me the pieces of landscape cloth that had hung him up a couple of times. I'd forgotten about it. He did not complain. In fact, he offered to bring his truck back at the end of the day and take away some old rotten railroad ties as part of the $60 job..
I am extremely pleased with the job and with Betts. Having good equipment is helpful, but it is no substitute for the willingness to just dig in and get a job done, which Betts clearly has. I'll have them back again
