I really wish I had anything positive to say about this company. However, the entire experience was really horrible. The owner, Vic Smith, refused to provide me with an itemized list of his expenses or any sort of documentation in writing except for a proposal which consisted of the costs (all zeroes) totaling up to the final price for the project which was just over $12,000 for a single bathroom remodel. I also requested a timeline in writing stating when the project should be done. When met with this request Vic became hostile and aggressive and told me that if I tried to hold him to any penalties he would have no problem finding fault with me in return. I fully regret hiring him but had a firm deadline and he seemed to be the only one available. I guess that also should have been a red flag. I hired Silver Creek to remodel two bathrooms in my home. I paid for nearly all the materials that were used and half of the project cost up front. I picked out very nice marble tile which Vic and his son ultimately ruined. They built a shower for me which would have leaked, damaged my home, and have to be ripped out. They also did a horrible job laying the tile. There were sharp edges sticking out everywhere. It was crooked and uneven throughout. Grout lines from one wall did not meet up with the grout lines in adjoining walls. I requested a small bench but they neglected to tile or seal underneath it. They did not adequately mortar and used materials next to each other which would have corroded. Additionally, he ripped out a vanity and left an open and exposed pipe sticking out of the wall which ultimately flooded the room while he went out of state on a spur of the moment trip. When he was approached about the issue he, of course, blamed faulty plumbing inside of the house. As usual, he was trying to deflect from his own incompetence. Simply stuffing a rag in the pipe would have prevented the flooding, and did, until the renovation moved forward with a different contractor. No attempt was ever made by this company to fix anything that I was unhappy with or to make me, his customer, happy in any way. He frequently made decisions without consulting me and then tried to charge me reworking fees when his work wasn't in line with the plan that we had discussed and he had agreed to before he began the project. I lost in small claims court to this man because of the absence of the contract he refused to provide. I am not sure what kind of world we live in where I could hire someone to build me a leaky and ugly shower without any consequence. The judge even told me that the pictures of the world that I provided made him sick to his stomach. Like I said, I had a strict timeline otherwise I would have followed my gut and not hired this company. My gut was right and the project was a disaster. The deadline was not met and my budget was compromised.
