I also needed additional black dirt brought in to make it perfect. From start to finish the communication was excellent with Will. He let me know what time they would get to my job and everything that was going on during the work process. This is something that a lot of contractors just fail to do in my past experiences. They provide top notch equipment, with many different attachments for various types of jobs during the entire process. This ensures that the job is done correctly, the first time! "Our Larson storm door closer was caught by the wind and ripped the bracket away from the exterior door frame. Chris Engle promptly arrived when he said he would. Polite and professional, he accessed the damage and told me what he could do on the spot for the least amount of money. Not a pretty job for what he had to work with unless we wanted to replace the whole door and frame, but he made our exterior door and storm door useable. He also installed a wind chain on the storm door for added protection."

If your countertop is a landscape of nicks, scratches, gouges, and discoloration, you may wonder if you can repair them. Often, you can fill in any nicks or gouges using laminate refinishing kits or epoxy fillers. You can remove some stains and discoloration by gently scrubbing them with a paste made from baking soda and water and a toothbrush.

If you find that the laminate boards are chipping as you cut, you can try flipping the board upside down and cutting the backside first. You can also make a small cut to the top of the board before flipping it and cutting it from the backside. If these strategies do not work, you can place painter’s tape along the edge of the cut to prevent chipping. It is also possible that the saw blade is dull and needs to be replaced.

While laminate countertops can’t be restored like other materials like butcher block, granite, or Corian can, they can be restored to a smooth, sealed surface using refinishing kits or by covering them with a vinyl peel-and-stick sheet. You can also consider painting your laminate countertops for a fresh look. 

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

Baking soda can damage some countertops, but it makes an excellent mild abrasive for removing stains on other countertops. For example, never use baking soda on quartz or glass countertops, but you can use it on laminate and tile. Stay away from using it on quartz because it can scratch and damage the counter, and glass is prone to scratches. Since baking soda is a mild abrasive, you can only use it on certain surfaces.
