One of the Blackstone Exteriors representatives dropped a business card at my home a few weeks ago, and I eventually made contact with him. We discussed roofing arrangements, Blackstone agreed to do the roof for the amount of insurance settlement. It took about another 10 days, but I received a couple days notice of when the crew was to arrive. The crew of 7 workers arrived at their appointed time, immediately set out to work, stripped off the old damaged shingles, prepared the underlayment for the new shingles and a few short hours later, my roof was done. The crew cleaned up the area of scraps and hauled away the trailer full of the old damaged shingles.
The only small complaint I had was that the roofing crew failed to run a magnet around my house to pick up stray nails. I had to borrow a co-worker's to get the job done. I brought this up to the company representative who then took off an amount we mutually agreed upon on the day we settled up. Overall, so far I'm very satisfied with the job. I would recommend Blackstone Exteriors to anyone interested.

But Mike came within hours of my call, from the next county over. He did not ask for a trip charge.
He had to replace other pipes as we began trying them out after the leak I reported was repaired. The house had been closed down for years, so I understood why several had broken from freezing. I would have paid just about anything, but he only charged $145. The crawl space he had to go clear through was very unpleasant, but he is just the nicest guy and quite professional. He would not remark on the dirt and cobwebs.
He proceeded after testing the water to light the gas water heater without being asked. I just can't say what a pure joy it is in 90-degree weather to have someone nice care that I was going without running water, do a perfect job (replaced pipes are holding up fine), and then not overcharge me. God Bless that man.

They came back and sealed it with calk. I could have easily done that myself. I paid for and expected a professional installation job. What I got was a sloppy quick fix. I have now replace the calk several times and it looks like __________ (you fill in the blank). I would only hire them again because, unfortunately, they may be one of the best plumbers in our town.

When I was ready to buy a car I told the salesman I decided not to buy a Flex. He showed me the Explorer and everything about it. When we picked the car up, he was sure that my wife was there so she could see how everything worked. He set my Bluetooth Sirius Music. Filled the car with gas....
Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Fixing a gas leak costs about $45 to $150 per hour for a plumber or gas line specialist. The job’s overall cost will vary depending on the location of the leak. A leaky junction or connection behind the stove or dryer will likely cost about $120 to $170. But for a leak that requires a gas fitter or plumber to excavate a pipe in the yard, the cost could rise to $1,500 to $5,000. Keep in mind that gas leaks are very serious issues, so don’t hesitate to contact a plumber or gas line specialist immediately.
Fixing a gas leak can take anywhere from one to 24 hours, depending on the location and magnitude of the problem. A gas line specialist or gas plumber should be able to give you an estimated time to completion once they evaluate the situation. If your city’s utility company works to fix a gas leak, it will likely have information available about the anticipated time for gas service to be restored.
The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:
Cap a gas line: $75–$150
Gas system inspection: $150
Pressure test: $75–$500
Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot
Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000
A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.
