Emerald Green Lawn Care Jeff

Our retaining wall was poorly constructed with what appears to be leftover materials from several projects. The materials are not what we were quoted or as described. It seems as though Jeff does not have much experience building retaining walls and this type of project may not be a landscaping project he is able to successfully complete. During the construction process, Jeff the owner, dug up a portion of our yard to get some fill dirt for the retaining wall project. The area where he dug in our yard contained tiling that he collapsed, our ponds no longer drain properly, and we have water collecting in our yard.

Don't waste your money! After derecho I contacted this company because they had done lawn care for me previously and I was desperate. After several months of making appointments with me and then not showing at scheduled times or simply being non-responsive, Jeff finally got a crew out to do the repairs. No lines were marked prior to beginning work, including my invisible dog fence (which was completely destroyed and will now cost me nearly $1k to replace). During this process Jeff made several comments when he would just drop by (no crew onsite) about hoping to "catch me in my swim suit" (I do not have a pool nor any reason to be lounging in my bathing suit during the work day). He also threw all old materials in to the ravine including an unsightly HUGE piece of cement with a bar sticking out of it. As the project was finally coming to an end in the fall Jeff said that the last of the pieces were in and he would be installing them by the end of the week. I foolishly paid him in full and have not seen him or his crew since. There are a few pieces left torn up (the patio outside my lower level exit), a strange configuration on the steps, a collapsing side wall and my invisible fence has still not been fixed, though he promised he would make it good. All-in-all he's absconded with more than $1500.

The work is fine; the people are nice; the paperwork is in terrible shape. We've been charged multiple times for the same thing. They've lost paperwork and claimed someone was forging signatures - not our problem, but we've had to pay for it. We ended up going to Small Claims Court (and winning) in an attempt to recoup what we'd overpaid.
