I have been using Kohles and Bach for 4 years, and I am very satisfied with their work and their professionalism.
This is the second and continued review for this provider. The first one I did was not that complimentary.
The first time they came out to review the fireplace to determine what needed to be repaired, they told me it was the damper. They were going to order one and call me when it was received. I didn't hear from them so I called but did not get a return call. I wrote a less than complimentary review on them on Angie's list. My complaint was they didn't call me back.
I wrote the review and within two days, the fireplace technician called me, apologized very politely. Explained that it was his error for not calling me back. He had the damper and wanted to know if I would allow him to come and install it. Of course I said yes.
He came over to the house, arrived on time and installed the damper. He charged me for the damper but did not charge me for the service call. He again apologized for not calling me back. He was extremely polite.
The every next day, the owner of the company followed up and called me. He wanted to make sure the driver had contacted me and that I was satisfied. I told him I was and I did appreciate his call too.
I was probably too quick to write the complaint and I do want to let everyone know, the minute the owner knew I had an issue, he made sure I was taken care of and in a very professional, very courteous way. I would not hesitant to recommend them to anyone.
They arrived at the appointment time fine, inspected the units and the pilot item was taken care of fine. However, in the inspection they noticed that the Damper on one of the units was not working. The repairman said he would locate a replacement for the damper and call me the next week. I waited the entire week but they did not call.
I Called them last Monday, the 24th and asked if they had located anything. Explain the situation to the nice lady on the phone and she said she would have the repairman follow up and call me.
I've never heard anything back. It's frustrating that you can't get any information or a simple call back.
The only concern that I had was when I made the appointment, I was told there would be a minimum charge of two hours because I do not live in Des Moines. However, the technician only charged me for one hour and so I have absolutely no complaints.
