Linder Tire Service is an institution in Iowa City. They have been here forever - and I have been dealing with the same family members for many, many years. I buy my tires at Linder Tire Service, and they do tire rotations, repairs, and replacements for 3 cars and a truck for us. They are the best tire dealer in Iowa City - and probably in the whole State of Iowa - if not the entire USA ! Seriously ! They are my tire guys - and have been for 40 years. I trust them and seek (and follow) their advice. It could not get any better !

"[removed member name], I apologize for not responding earlier. I somehow missed your review when you wrote it in June this year. I try to respond to all reviews directly. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that your experience with our company was negative. I want our company to improve and to do so, I review work related to any complaint and try to turn into a teachable moment. I reviewed your visit in our computer and had a couple of questions. If you don't mind providing additional information, it would help me learn more about what went wrong here. Our computer system shows that we worked on your Honda Civic on 10/2/2009. The work order specifies that we were to install two tires, do an oil change, alignment and check brakes. The final invoice was billed out for two new tires, we put on new front brake pads and we did a four wheel alignment. I don't show any work prior or since that day. Your review said that the work was done in January 2008. Did I miss a previous visit or can I assume that the October 2nd visit was the one that you reviewed? In your review you mentioned that your rotors were warped. If we have tire and mechancal work to do, we do the tire work first then we send the vehicle to the mechanical department. In your vehicles case, we installed front brakes and did an alignment. We re-surface the rotors, when installing brakes, to ensure that they are straight and clean for the new pads. How long after we installed the brakes did the rotors warp? Did you by chance advice the store that the rotors were warped? You also remarked that the valve core was loose on one of the new tires. Linder Tire puts in new valve stems every time we install tires (unless the vehicle has a tire pressure monitoring system). The valve stems comes assembled. Our tech uses a metal tool to pull the valve stem through the wheel and secure it in place. Since the stem is already assembled, we simply seat the bead of the tire and fill it with the correct air pressure, then the tires are balanced and put on the vehicle. Lastly we tighten the lug nuts so they are firm then we lower the car and hand torque each wheel to the manufacturer's specifications. I apologize that your tire was flat after installation. However, I suspect a faulty valve stem. We do not remove the core during installation because it is brand new. We would have gladly replaced the valve stem at no charge in this case. Again, I am sorry that your experience was negative to the point that you reviewed it almost four years later. If there is anything that I can do to regain your business or earn back your trust, please let me know. Have a good day. Sincerely, John Linder"
