The piano hinge did not work correctly (squeaky and binding). After several repair attempts, they were very willing to replace entire door which they did. We appreciated their promptness, workmanship, and willingness to work with us.

Generally it went okay, though my contact seemed to be pushing me to a very expensive window replacement that was at odds with the advice that I received from another vendor. Moreover, when I asked the representative to communicate with the other vendor, he said that they were competitors and refused to do so.

"The customer has a very large window with a major rot problem. After evaluation we informed him that this was too large of a job for our company. The windows have major structural rot that can't be fixed by replacing a few parts. We offered to do a temporary seal on the exterior to try to stop any more water from entering the home this winter until the replacement could be done. The customer chose to have us seal the window. As for not working with the other vendor, we supplied the customer with two local reputable contractors’ names and he chose to go with a different window/siding company that is a direct competitor. When we were asked to call the competitor and discuss this window job we declined."

After calling a number of places to ask about fixing our window without luck, it was a relief when Knebel said they could do it. We scheduled a time for them to come look at the window, and they were punctual as well as very friendly and obviously competent. The workman chatted easily with me as he disassembled the window in just a few seconds. He took the frame back to the shop and though he had to custom order tempered glass because the window is in a stairwell, the overall cost was surprisingly low. Even when I called back to ask more questions about glass types, everyone was friendly and happy to answer me. When it was time for the reinstall, again the workman arrived on time and did the work quickly. He was also careful to clean up after himself and provided tips on how to treat our old windows so they will last longer. I really can't be happier with how smoothly this went. I'd recommend this company to anyone in a heartbeat.
