GLASCOCK FLOORS SERVICE

DO NOT USE GLASCOCK FLOORS!!! They extensively damaged the wood floors I hired them to sand by scratching and circular sanding the original finish off. After that, they applied stain to the scratched-by-them floors in a terribly uneven and sloppy manner. On top of that, they applied sealant that bubbled and warped. As if that wasn't enough, they took it upon themselves to STAIN MY WHITE CARPET WITH THE BROWN WOOD STAIN, and also damage some kitchen counters for good measure.

To top all of this damage off, the owner came out to inspect this horrific job and was honestly a complete jerk.

In short, please don't use these people. They will damage your home, the owner is unprofessional, and they won't fix the damage they do to your home, let alone actually complete the service you hire them for.

The floor looked terrific. They were punctual. I was very satisfied.

It was time to pay attention to our hardwood floors. We called a few hardwood floor refinishes for suggestions and estimates. The decision made was to hire Glascock.
he estimator was prompt, thorough, and very helpful with explaining procedure, and various options.
We prepped by stripping rooms, removing pictures from the walls, and everything from counter tops to avoid dust issues. All furniture sitting on the hardwood was moved to carpeted areas and covered with sheets. We were ready for the job.
The re-finisher arrived each day on time and stayed on task until he left. He was meticulous and left the job each day tidy and ready for the next day. He was a true craftsman and did beautiful work. After all was said and done, we realized how dustless the system truly was - and barely had to dust!
We can't say enough about how easy and smoothly the task went for us.
We HIGHLY recommend this company. Our home is now ready for the holidays and friends and family gatherings .... for many years to come!

They were excellent. I was impressed the quality of the work and their willingness to take care of a few things that needed to be addressed. We had scheduled the service months in advance based on their schedule. The only difficulty was we had confirmed several days before when they were going to be here. They did not show up and after several hours I called and left a message for the man. I received a call and were informed the crew was on their way. They worked for a brief time that day. They came back the following four days to complete the work. The quality of the work is superior.

Glascock's estimate was more than $1000 more than Barnum Floors and more than $3000 more than BB's Hardwood and Tile Floors, but we think we got very good value and quality for the money. Glascock doesn't even have a website, but they've been in business a long time. Part of their appeal was that they had done the original bit of wood floor in our house 20 years ago. We were referred by a friend, and stopped by their showroom in Indianola and talked with Dave Hutton, who does the residential estimating. He came as scheduled within a few days to take measurements for an estimate.
No deposit required -- they just asked that we give their guys a check for the cost of the wood when they delivered the wood. (The wood needed to sit in the house and acclimate to its humidity level before the work began.)
We were surprised to get only a one-man crew: Dave Wilkins. The project might have gone a few days faster with more workers, but we lucked out with Wilkins' workmanship and perfectionism. He was meticulous but efficient, and tidy too. All of his sanding tool were connected to a shop vac, so the sanding was dustless. He also vacuumed at the end of each work day and left no trash behind. He did all of the sawing at his van in the driveway, which also cut down on the dust and noise. He worked on our project almost continuously for four weeks, with only a few half-days at the start and end where he started the day at another project before coming to our house.
The job did take about a week longer than estimated, mostly because of the staircase -- Wilkins noted that the original staircase didn't have tight tolerances because it was going to be carpeted, so he ended up correcting the original sloppiness while he was installing the new oak treads and risers. However, the final invoice was exactly the same as the original estimate.
Overall, we were very impressed with Wilkins' workmanship and professionalism, and would highly recommend Glascock Floors.

Their scheduling was exactly as promised. We were able to stay in our home during the work and even walk on the floor in the evenings. There was no mess left behind and the floor looks gorgeous!
