Hired them as a recommendation from a family member. At the start of the process things went well. They came in and removed existing staircase and started building new one so we had the ability to gain access to the next floor. As soon as that was finished contractor started coming on an incremental basis, would come for 30 to 45 mins at a time once a week then once a month. For a year the remodel of the staircase went on. Contractor would complain that he didn't have access to the house and requested a key. I denied and noted that I could leave the home unlocked on the days he would come. Would leave multiple voicemails would not return calls, would not show up for days he noted he was coming. I fired the contractor before the job was finished a year later after it was started and agreed to pay 90% of the original remodel was finished.
