Furniture - Sales
FROM THE RESPONSE WE GOT AFTER THE SECOND SET HAS BEEN IN USE BY 2 SENIOR CITIZENS, ( NO PETS OR CHILDREN) IN THE HOUSE, WAS THAT THEY WILL SEND US SOME DYE TO COVER UP THE DARK BROWN LEATHER SO THAT THE FADING DOESN'T SHOW. THIS SET WAS EXPENSIVE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THE COLOR FADING AND THE CUSHIONS IN VERY POOR CONDITION. THE COUCH IS NOT BEING USED ANYMORE AS ONE PERSON ALMOST FELL OFF OF THE COUCH FROM LACK OF POOR CUSHIONS. THE LETTER RESPONSE FROM FLEXSTEEL SAYS THEY FEEL THEY WERE VERY FAIR IN REPLACING OUR SET 2 YEARS AGO. AND NOW THE REPLACEMENT SET IS NO GOOD EITHER. I GUESS THAT SAYS IT ALL! THE FURNITURE IS POORLY MADE AND THE COMPANY DOES NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH HELPING OR REPAYMENT OF THIS FURNITURE. FURNITURE BY 2 OLDER PEOPLE SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT AFTER 2 YEARS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A BRAND NAME AND COST A LOT OF MONEY. THE RESPONSE FROM THE FURNITURE STORE WHICH WAS MUELLER'S FURNITURE STORE IN BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS WAS THAT "WE WERE NOT USING THE FURNITURE CORRECTLY". THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THE RESPONSE FROM FLEXSTEEL IS TO SEND US DYE TO TRY AND COVER UP THE FADING OF THE COLOR. NO RESPONSE ABOUT THE CUSHIONS. VERY UNSATISFACTORY RESPONSE AND VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP ON THE PART OF THE SALES STORE AND THE FURNITURE MANUFACTURER.

I noticed three and a half months after purchases that there were four nails protruding from the underside of the chair. Bruce, from Nebraska Furniture Mart, came out and inspected the defect and corrected it on 8/30/2010. Then I contacted Nebraska Furniture Mart, who told me to contact Patty Hofer with Flexsteel. We contacted her the same day, but she did not respond. I, then, phoned Nebraska Furniture again and spoke to Kelly who told me that I had to deal with Flexsteel. I went weeks without hearing from Flexsteel, so I sent a certified registered letter to the president. Nearly two weeks later, I received a terse response from the president's sales administrator stating that Nebraska Furniture Mart had adequately responded to the issue, and the problem had been corrected. There was no apology or acceptance of blame for the dangerous defect with the furniture.
