I grew up in a small town where my auto shop did only what was and quot;neededand quot;, not what would make them money. I'm so happy I found that here in Des Moines with Joel's Auto Repair! My back brakes were squeeling, but I was told there was a little rust on the rotors (that they cleaned up for no charge!) and that I could wait until the pads needed changed to do anything else. They installed new brakes on the front for much less than I could have gotten it done elsewhere. And they showed me the parts they removed (to prove they needed changed). I will definitely use Joel's Auto Repair again!

We scheduled the repairs a day or two later and I expected to get my 4-Runner back in the late afternoon. As it happened that day I was contacted for a job interview at 2:30 pm. I called Joel's and told him I'd need the car sooner if at all possible. He got the job done by 1:30 so I could make my interview and as a result I'm employed!
This is a darn good shop!!!

I was very impressed by the fair and prompt service provided. I come from small town Iowa and was treated like I was back home. I paid by check rather then credit card so they didn't have to waste money . Please do the same. They deserve it!

Consistently great over years.

I was referred to Joel's Auto Repair several years ago and I go to Joel for any work my Jeep Grand Cherokee needs. Joel himself is the reason why, he is a fair, honest and caring man. I believe that when you find a great provider, you stay with them. On one occasion my AC fluids were leaking, I called CarX as it was the closest auto repair shop to my home. Their price for Freeon was 5 times the price of Joel's. From that day forward Joel has had my business.

Joel checked out my tie rods, indicating everything is fine and no repairs are needed. I get very tired of places telling me I need work performed on my car that is unnecessary. Joel does all of the repairs on my vehicle He is reasonable in his prices and very honest. You don't have to worry about him telling you you need work done that isn't necessary!

We have been using him for the past 2 - 3 years. Our whole family uses his services now. He tells you exactly what is wrong and shows you the parts. We have never had any of the work that he has done for us. He will take you in on the same day if you have a problem that has to be fixed right away. He runs a good clean shop. He is the only shop that we use.
