The movers were extremely prompt with the move. Were very careful with the loading and unloading of furniture. The movers were polite and very caring and made any adjustments to where things were placed. Would highly recommend their services to anyone.

Hawkeye Movers drove to Omaha, loaded my goods, drove to Norwalk and then unload the goods as directed by myself and my spouse.
Some issues I had with Hawkeye were:
1. They brought a large moving van trailer that should've been sufficient space for my household goods, but they ended up having to leave a few small items, requiring me to make a subsequent trip to Omaha with a moving trailer. This, of course, increased my moving costs.
2. When Hawkeye 'ran out of room' in the moving trailer, they placed a garage shelving unit in the bed of the 5th wheel pickup being used to pull the trailer. During the trip to Des Moines/Norwalk, the shelving unit must've been blown apart or tipped over during transit, as it arrived in Norwalk in pieces, with some of the pieces missing. I didn't discover this problem until after the move was completed and Hawkeye had departed/been paid.
3. They used a pickup truck as an 'overflow' moving vehicle. When the trailer wouldn't acccomodate all the household goods, some items I would've preferred to transfer in the van were forced into the pickup truck bed. As a result, there was some slight damage to some furniture.
Otherwise Hawkeye did a good job at a very reasonable rate. I would use them again, but likely only for smaller jobs locally.

Arrived on time. Quickly loaded and unloaded heavy furniture and drove safely 16 miles out into the country to deliver to my daughters. No small talk. I like that. They were polite, careful with furniture, and friendly.

I called around to get an upright piano moved from Beaverdale to near the Art Center. Hawkeye's price was a flat price, it was reasonable, and he was flexible and patient in dealing with the move, which was a little more difficult because it involved a change of ownership of the piano, and negotiating schedules on both ends of the move. They were conscientious on both ends, even rehanging the windchime that they had to take down in my front doorway as they left. Over all, I'm pretty pleased.

Called around to get estimates. Some companies charged by the hour from when the left shop to when they returned to the shop. Other companies couldn't give me an exact price, but estimated between $200-250. We bought the piano for $200, so didn't want to pay that much. We called Hawkeye and explained what we needed and was given a flat fee cost of $175. We agreed and scheduled a time the next day. Was supposed to meet at 1, but movers done with previous job early so called me at 11:30. That worked for me, so the 2 guys picked up the piano on southside of Des Moines and dropped off at my house in West Des Moines. They had a piano dolley, so only had to pick up the piano when going up/down steps. Everything went good and gave the movers a little extra tip. Good experience.

Just terrible customer service. Yes he was cheap but be careful. You get what you pay for.

They were friendly and helpful. They arrived and got through the whole load and unload in excellent time so I was very pleased as my bill both times was below what I expected to pay. They didn't mind putting everything where I wanted them placed and even removing a couple of large heavy items when it didn't seem they were going to fit in the places I had originally wanted them to go.
