Job went very well. Jeremy and his two brothers came to the house right on schedule and worked diligently until job was completed. Cleaned the area after the job was completed. I would not hesitate to use Grandview Construction again for other projects around the house.

It saddens me to write this review. I feel strongly that small businesses work hard and deserve positive reviews when they have done a good job. Most all small businesses desire to work hard and do a good job. The flip side of that is mistakes are bound to crop up and no project is perfect. Having that belief makes our experience utterly incomprehensible with this particular company and individual! I feel strongly that people hiring a company to work for them deserve to know what the reputation of that company has been in past projects.
We purchased our house in 2010 with the understanding that we would add on to make it a place we really loved and help accommodate our family. We didn't know at what point this endeavor would take place and leery about how to go about the process financially. So, we waited a few years. Within our 3rd year we started asking around when a close friend recommended Grandview Construction. This company is owned by a relatively new friend of ours and we ran in some of the same circles. Dave D**** was in the process of taking the business over from his father, who ran a very successful company for years and years or so we heard. Armed with the recommendation and having a few conversations with Dave D****, we pushed our worry about working with friends aside as we wanted a professional who could help us devise a floor plan as well as pull permits and finally frame our structure. We felt Dave was someone we could trust and depend on given the customer service we received. He assured us in every way that he was indeed a professional. We wanted to do the remainder of the project ourselves which, was a unique spin on hiring a business to work with us, Dave assured us again that his company had worked projects like this before and it wouldn't be a problem in the slightest. Our conversations were exactly how we envisioned they would go and we signed the contract and wrote a check for the down payment in September of 2012 for work to begin immediately on floor plans and blue prints. That was the very last time we had any voluntary communication out of this company or Dave. The only work that actually happened and was completed was securing the building permit with the county. This task took NUMEROUS phone calls and lots of questions placed to Dave asking about that specific issue and dealing with missed appointments and excuses as to why promised dates were not kept or met. December 2012, after only securing a building permit and still not having accurate or professional blue prints we felt we had given this company every chance possible. We could not stand the thought of having to work with someone that we had to plead and beg to work on our home addition which, was still not underway after 3 entire months. Every conversation held numerous excuses along with bigger projects that took precedent over our addition. We finally had to pull the plug. We were surprised when we were notified by Dave that we were in breach of contract especially after he admitted to us in writing how badly he had handled this project. Needless to say a trip to small claims court several months later secured our down payment and confirmed or validated our suspicions that we were indeed not treated fairly let alone in a professional light.
I have heard this company does excellent work unfortunately, getting them to actually fulfill the deadlines promised in a professional manner is a battle that has happened to others as well.

Response from Grandv cabinet
"I'm sorry you had a bad experience (Member name removed). My name is Jeremy and it's unfortunate that we never met one another and worked this out. You had what seems to have been a terrible time with our company and for that I am truly sorry. I wish I could of handled your account personally and avoided all this unpleasantness. For what it's worth I knew nothing of any of this until well after the fact. David no longer works for Grandview either. Again, I'm very sorry about everything that happened and wish I could have been involved. I'm certain had I of been this whole thing wouldn't have happened. Have a nice day. Jeremy"
