After signing the contract, they sent a rep out the Friday before they were supposed to start to make sure things were set to go. I showed him another wall that hadn't been exposed due to drywall being up before. I had taken it down and there were large cracks there as well. He took pictures and said he'd get them to his boss to see if stabilizing that wall was recommended. It was.
When the crew showed up on Monday, they were on time. The crew leader was very polite and all of the crew members introduced themselves. They were a very nice group of guys. The work was supposed to last 1 day, but they had trouble getting concrete so it took a second day. The crew leader explained what had happened and obviously felt bad. I wasn't concerned as I just wanted it done right.
Upon completion of the work, they explained again what they had done and showed me how to monitor the sump pump. They cleaned up their materials and the mess.
One of the drawbacks of this system is it does tear up your yard to dig the trench for the cement. We will have to reseed it.
Another note is that I feel that the price of this service is fair. However, it is not cheap and there are cheaper options. I just didn't feel the other systems were nearly strong enough for my peace of mind. While I feel the price is reasonably fair for the work they do, I don't think it's a bargain. The warranty is good though.
What I liked about the remodel project was that I had only one contact - Dry Basements. They lined up all the different contractors (plumbing, electrical, tile, flooring, carpentry, installing a gas fireplace, etc). Every one was professional and punctual. Dry Basement even used my extra supplies left over from my son's project and completed the work he didn't finish. They stayed true to their quote. If I changed my mind and wanted something different, it was no problem. They were respectful and adjusted the project accordingly. If I had more basement to remodel I would definitely use them again.
If you are thinking about a basement remodeling project I strongly encourage you to at least get a quote from Dry Basements.
fast-friendly and clean up great
we had flood damage and needed to make sure this was not going to happen again-we had 3 of our four wall re tiled and a 2nd sump added-also wall covering so there will never be a issue with mold-they took down and then the manager himself came and help to re set them
-DRY, DRY, DRY ! Very pleased wit the service and they are just around the corner
As the work progressed the window wells were opened along the side of the basement closest to the driveway and window drains were installed to help control the water flow into the new drainage system.
Next the dual sump-pump system was installed and the provider gave us complete details on how the system would work. He then asked us for input on how to locate the external drain to the exterior and we showed the installer where we would be installing a new deck and asked that the discharge point would be placed out clear of the overhang of the deck and would follow the edge of the existing concrete pad that would remain under the new deck.
Next the installers brought loads of crushed rock to be used in back filling the interior drain channels along the perimeter of the basement floor. It was loaded from the driveway through one of the window wells that had previously been opened up along the driveway.
The No-Water-System was placed in the channels and then covered with concrete and smoothed out. The floor was thoroughly cleaned and swept and then an open drain was installed below the floor level in the doorway connecting the old basement to the new.
This crew was exceptionally courteous and cheerful. They were a delight to have in our home. We would recommend Spencer, Randy, and Zach to anyone. John Peterson was directly involved in the sump-pump installation and also provided the services of sales representative and foreman for the job. He was thorough, professional, and an absolute dear.
They were all pleasant to be around and did not object to questions or a little light humor and such as the job proceeded.
