Hired to replumb house on slab. Two baths, kitchen, laundry, water heater and one outdoor faucet. He started 11/5. He passed a rough inspection 11/18 based on what he told the City inspector he was going to do. He claimed he also needed to replace the water line from the pit where the meter is. The necessity of that has never been established. That was passed and he was paid in full 12/23 at which time he said he would be back in a few days to finish a few things. Despite several promises he did not come back and stopped answering the phone or texts a couple weeks ago. I engaged a different plumber 2/23.

I am a general contractor and this was one of the worst sub contractors I have ever delt with.  He was never on time. Getting breakfast or lunch seemed more important.  He initially was unable to even pull the permit to do the work and waited until after he started the job to go get it.  After they turned him down initially I was worried I was going to have to find another plumber to finish his work.  Which would have cost more $.  He did finally finish the job and get the permit and all would have been fine had he of done his job well.  He didn't properly crimp a fitting on a cold water pex line and there was a slow leak that continued for a couple of weeks and buckled the flooring and ruined trim. I had to demo surrounding flooring and trim and reinstall.  Randy did come  back and fix the fitting leak after I exposed it for him (late of course) and proceeded to tell me how he was late because he couldn't find  counter top material for his own kitchen remodel. Therefore "I wasn't the only one having a bad day" and acknowledged that it was his mistake " I can't even blame this on one of my guys because I think I crimped these fittings myself". Randy Jones is long on wind and very short on professionalism. Long story short, Randy's work $1000, water damage repair $1600. total cost $2600 & lots of drama!!!     We will see if he will be accountable for repairs due to his negligence.

Did not show up on time.  Did not initiate the "I'm going to be late" phone call.  I had to call him TWICE!
Here is a weird fact....The police had him pulled over in front of our house....still not sure what this was about.
I couldn't really figure out if he was unable to do the simple project by himself, or if I was paying for him to train a journeyman plumber.  He claimed he needed a "helper" to hold things.  I told him I was more than capable of holding things as I had already taken the morning off work and didn't want to delay the installation.  He and his buddy were here for exactly 2 hours and I was billed for 3.5 hours of work at $85 per hour.  It did appear to me that the buddy did all the work and that Randy was there to train him.  I was in the kitchen for the install and I NEVER saw any necessity for there to be 2 plumbers as I could easily have held the faucet steady myself rather than pay $170 an hour for both plumbers when it was clean the job only required one person.  I feel like I paid the extra $85 per hour so that a young plumber could learn the trade from a master plumber.
I did get the new kitchen faucet installed and it seems to be working fine, however, they were unable to get the soap dispenser installed because they needed a brass extender.  Randy should have identified this on his visit with me the day before (which he says was part of the reason I was charged for more than 2 hours of time.  Apparently, the time it takes him to give you his estimate is worked into your final bill).  I was charged $5 for a brass extender in my "part" bill but it was never put on as it wasn't long enough.  So I still don't have my soap dispenser installed and will need to contact another plumber to finish this simple task.
Finally he installed a new shuttlecock in the leaky toilet, which took about 5 minutes and it seems to be working fine.
Just to be clear.  2 hours of time at my house (2 hours late!).  $85 of parts, of which not all were used for my job.  1 kitchen faucet installed (hole was already drilled) and all of the plumbing lines were already in place because we were simply upgrading to a new faucet.  Old garbage disposal hooked back up and drains/stoppers installed.  Finally a 5 minutes ballcock install and adjustment.  $382.50
