Lost all electricity on a Saturday while trying to move into our new home.  Called the Action Electric after hours phone number and electrician promptly came out that same day.  Sami was great!  He was able to do a temporary fix on the breaker box  to get our electricity back on Saturday, as parts needed to be ordered to complete our job.  Then Sami returned Monday with the parts and completed our job.  Fast, friendly, and amazing service!  Thank you Action Electric for all of your help!

The experience was horrible. The service tech was extremely slow and clearly has no desire nor incentive to complete the job in an expedited manner. Several days prior to engaging Action, I had a home theatre tech run wires to place cable outlets in the same places i needed electrical outlets; this was done in about 4 hrs. I made an incorrect assumption that it would take roughly the same amount of time for the electrician to pull wires for electrical outlets.. To my surprise and dismay, it took two full days to install 5 outlets and hang 3 lights. We did have another light for the tech to install but I ended the engagement at the end of day 2 after I arrived home and discovered the tasks had still not been fully competed. To make matters worse, while pulling wire in the attic, the tech damaged the ceiling! I would advise against using this vendor but if you must, ensure there is a clear expectation as to the time required for the job or make certain you are paying for the job rather than an hourly rate.

Action Electric was very professional. Our house never had cable in it before and in order to get it in, we had to drill thru the brick. Nervous to do so, we hired the professionals. They drilled thru the brick and also sealed the cable so that there wasn't any air loss. They were very clean and tidy. The two cable jacks and plates they installed in the wall look like they were there all along. Very beautiful.
We purchased our own motion light and bulb for our exterior light replacement. Action Electric removed the old fixture (left it for us just in case), and installed the new. They also positioned it to maximize the light and to ensure it was acting properly as a security light.

The service man came the same day I called.  He checked the breakers and said it was fine -- it must be the oven.  He said the oven must be calling for more power than the breaker was built for (40 amps) and there was probably a short in the stove/oven unit.

He did not examine the stove/oven or even come into the house.  I paid him about $100 for his trip charge.

So I called an appliance repair company and they came out.  They pulled the stove/oven unit out and even with all the burners/oven turned on high, the most power it was calling for was 24 amps.  The appliance repair man said that this was a common occurrence -- that electricians did not bother to check the appliance and therefore make  a false diagnosis.  That cost me another $100 in trip charges.

I called a different electrician from Angie's list and they came -- sure enough, the breaker had to be replaced.  Another $100 trip charge, plus paying for the work needed.  I spent $200 in wasted trip charges because the Action rep did not do a thorough job.
Response from ACTION ELECTRIC
"We were called to check A/C condensor and stove for tripping breakers. We did enter the house & test loads at panel. We found the A/C was bad and drawing 54 amps on a 27 amp condensor. We reset the breaker to the stove and tested the circuit and it worked. If there were any problems after we left, the customer could have called us and we would have returned at no charge. Our warrranty is 1 year parts and labor. Randy Mease Owner"

We purchased an electric stove/space heater for a 3 season porch. After it tripped the circuit breaker, we called Action Electric and were advised that the best solution would be to put the outlet on its own breaker. Because of the nature of the job, they wouldn't come out to do an estimate, but gave me a approximation over the phone and scheduled the appointment at a time convenient for us. The electrician was on time, but what we thought would be an easy job turned out to be far more difficult because of the placement of the foundational supports and a metal plate. Jesse worked as carefully as he could, with many trips up and downstairs and to the hardware store to get the correct drill bit. Unfortunately, because of the metal plate, he ended up putting a hole in the baseboard - which he fixed, even offering to come back and do the sanding & painting after the wood putty dried. He was able to finish within $50 of the estimate, something we were happy with considering the difficulties encountered.

After calling Action Electric, they set up an appointment that worked well with my schedule, They were very punctual and kind when inspecing my home to prepare the quote. He pointed out some things that I did not know before when it came to house wiring, and also pointed out some options as far as equipment manufacturers that I could use. Afterwards, I was promised a quote by the end of the next business day. I waited a week before emailing them inquiring about the missing quote. The bid was a little high, and I ended up going with another electrician who was equally as prompt, and could start the job sooner.

I called Action Electric, gave a verbal description of the work needed, replacing a chandelier in foyer 18 foot high, replace light switch with a dimmer. I was quoted $82.50 for 1st hour and $55.00 each hour after. They asked if I could help setup scaffolding, I agreed to help. The scaffolding just fit in the foyer, with less than 3 inches on each side between scaffolding and walls. I put towels on scaffolding to protect the walls. The electrician didn?t seem to care if the walls were marked up by the scaffolding moving. The scaffolding setup, chandelier installation, light switch installation and scaffolding removal took 2 hours. When the bill was presented, it included an extra hour, (30 minutes each to load and unload scaffolding at the office).

Electrician arrived within two hours after I called Action Electric. He was pleasant, efficient in estimating the cost of repair, and he came in under the estimate for the cost of repair. He also finished the work in a slightly shorter time than he had estimated. All of the needed supplies were brought with him, so there was no need for him to obtain extra supplies. He cleaned up any mess he made. Both outlets now work fine.

The experience was the best that I have ever had with a contractor of any kind. The estimate was clear and fair. We even had to move the project ahead two days to accommodate the spa company's delivery schedule, and Action electric was willing and able to do that. The workmanship was impeccable. I would highly recommend Action Electric.

Things went very well! They started and finished on the dates I expected them to. They did extra work for me that was not in the bid and they were wonderful to work with from the people in the office, the guy that did the bid and the 2 that worked in my house! I'm a customer of theirs for life now!!

I have hired this company for a variety of small electrical projects as I was updating my house, over the course of about two years. Initially, I really liked the professionalism and the thoroughness of the work. More recently, the work had been getting sloppy; I found exposed wiring, wires that should have been capped but were not, and tools and materials left behind. More than one time, I have had to call the individual electrician to let them know that they left their items at my house after the job was complete. Overall, I have liked this company, but I have hired other electricians more recently to do electrical work that needed to be done.

Rocky the electrician arrived on time to install a plug for a sump pump and other electrical problems. His company had been recommended by another company that didn't do electrical work. He was professional in his work and work was done in a timely manner.

When I purchased my home, one of the things the inspection turned up was that the wiring in the house was woefully out of date, and would never be able to handle the load I was likely to put on it. As part of the sale, I received an allowance from the seller for $2k to get things brought up to date. Action electric was selected by my real estate agent (based on quotes), and they preformed all the necessary tasks to my satisfaction. They did miss a few items the first visit, and there was confusion over which style of 220 plug I needed installed, but everything was taken care of in the end. The only (very minor) complaint I can think of is the labels in the brand new electric panel were rather sloppy and poorly labeled, but I have sorted it out since then.
