+ -1 moreThey broke a vase. They didn't offer to pay for it and I didn't ask. Besides breaking the vase, they did a good job. They were on time. I would use them again, but my biggest problem besides them breaking something is he came with three men. Then, he was supposed to get one man, who never showed up. Halfway through it, two of the three men quit and left just the boss there by himself. He was there by himself for an hour or two and then he got one or two more guys to finally come over. It was just a mess. We didn't get done until that evening. Then, at the end, one got broke and everyone was tired. I mean I understand, but it wasn't my fault, it was theirs. The boss was apologetic over and over, he kept working hard by himself, so I felt bad for him. I'll use him again; I'm sure that'll never happen again.
Description of Work: I used a moving company to move my stuff to the storage unit.

+ -1 moreWe first hired A-1 Movers for a move in late October 2015 to our home in Perry. Ricky and his team exceeded our expectations. They wrapped all the furniture in padding and were very careful in handling everything. They even did things like shutting off water lines in crawlspaces and moving some furniture for a daughter-in-law which was not part of the original plan. A job change forced my wife and I to move to a new home just 11 months later. We called Ricky and again, he and his team did a fantastic job, getting everything moved without damage. Ricky also hooked up the washer and dryer and assembled our bed frame for us as well. We do not plan on moving again, but if we did, we would be calling A-1 Movers.

+ -1 moreEverything was moved as promised. I had a few things that were broken. There was also a well packed 65" 4k TV that worked before I packed it. The screen was cracked when I plugged it in a few days later. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when it happened so I can't say for certain it was caused by the movers. However, the movers were very pleasant to work with and the rate was good.
Description of Work: Move 4 bedroom house from one location to new house.

Description of Work: NIGHTMARE!!!! AFTER SOME TIME ON THE JOB, WHICH WE SPECIFICALLY SAID HAD TO BE COPLETED BY MIDNITEGHT, THE BOSS AND ONE OTHER WORKER LEFT THE JOB TO GO DO ANOTHER JOB!!!The four hours they were gone were the eight (4x2=8) hours that would have gotten our security deposit back. Lazy and incompetent, jerking phone, television, and computer jacks out of their receptacles--many left plugged in, and being broken, useless. Many items broken and scratched or totally destroyed, improperly packed, just dumped in boxes--basically trashed our things, including a 100 year old clock. No idea of how to properly pack and load, or handle. It was more like the scene of a fire clean-up: just scrape it up and dump it. It was impossible to track them-they flitted around from one thing to another like a flock of sparrows, lot's of motion but not much done. IF you want your belongings to be treated like garbage being hauled to the dump, then this is the company you want. If not, call one of the big companies-Allied, Nationwide, Mayflower, and rest easy, secure in the knowledge you have professionals working for, not against you. Hire this outfit, and my guess is they are the dregs swept up of the street, because they d*** sure didn't know much about moving. The broken items, damaged and destroyed items, the attitudes, the laziness of two the "workers", the lousy packing,---all of this told me we were in trouble. We are still going through boxes nearly a month later, and still finding scratched and damaged items. None of these people have the professional training that the big companies provide their contractors, and it really shows. For $2500 I could have had real pro's in and out in probably 12 hours. Want a circus? Then call "A-1". Thing is, it will not be funny. Heartbreaking is more like it.

Description of Work: This is long overdue and I apologize to Ricky and his team for that. A-1 Movers exceeded all our expectations. Ricky and his men arrived exactly on time and quickly evaluated the best way to do the move. They wrapped the furniture, moved it with great care and completed the work ahead of time. Ricky and one of his men went above and beyond the "call of duty", and went down into a crawl-space to shut off a water line. They also moved some furniture to the home of our daughter-in-law, which was not part of the original plan, doing this without extra charges. They are without a doubt the best at what they do; I will recommend them to anyone planning a move. Ricky and the A-1 Mover's team has our thanks for everything they did.
