Kelly Construction of Davenport, Inc.

All work was done in a professional timely manner.  Dug up old driveway and path on a Wed.  Poured on Thurs afternoon.  Removed forms, etc on Fri.  Returned Mon and filled in along the driveway and path with dirt and seed.  Kyle (sales) came out on Tues morning for follow up.  I'm very pleased with the outcome and would recommend to anyone needing new concrete installed.

They just simply did not provide any service at all.  I left one voice message and then followed up 3 days later after not hearing anything back.  I spoke to a man that wrote down all of my info and said someone would get back to me the next day. 10 days later I had a message that said they were too busy to help us and it would be spring before they could even consider our job.

Fantastic job.  The garage looks spectacular.  My sister saw the picture and suggested that we build a new garage and use the old one for a bar!  They rented us a large covered trailer for a week to store our garage clutter while they worked.  It was a godsend, since it rained most of the time between their first visit and last.  The guys were friendly and sociable.  They knew exactly what they were doing.  I would not hesitate to recommend Kelly Construction of Davenport, Ia to anybody.

If you hire this company watch very closely that they perform all
of your requests exactly as you want. Because if it's concrete work once it's done
they are done with you.
My driveway has a rather steep incline and I requested an extra rough finish on
it to minimize the slipperiness in the winter. This request apparently
went right over their heads because I ended up with a standard 'level sidewalk'
finish. Now my driveway is very treacherous even after the slightest of snows.
My bigger complaint, however, is that they finished the drive level with the
garage floor. Living in a northern area most driveways I am familiar with
have the driveway finished roughly 3/4 to 1" lower than the garage floor
to allow for winter frost upheaval. Now during the winter the driveway
heaves and is higher than the garage floor. Hence, now water that drips
off my vehicles accumulates in the garage rather than running out. I
complained about this after the first winter and their salesman and
construction supervisor came out to inspect the situation. They essentially told me this is just how it is
here in the winter. I was requesting that they replace the section in
front of the garage so that the driveway was lower to allow for frost upheaval.
They left saying they would get back with me which they never did. I gave
them a couple months and then made numerous calls asking for a response from the
salesman, which never came. Apparently their strategy is that if you
ignore the unhappy long enough customer they'll eventually go away.
The end result is I now have a driveway that is not anywhere close to my
expectations. I now deal with standing water in my garage in the winter
and a very slippery driveway that can be a real challenge to shovel.
I cannot recommend Kelly Construction. While
their quotes are competitive beware that the quality of work and especially
their desire for customer satisfaction is highly suspect.
