A week passes and I do not hear from the company. I call to inquire about the quote to repair. The technician stated it would be approximately $60 to repair. Before committing to the repair he stated he preferred to have the owner, Todd, advise on the repair. After he talked to Todd, he would then call me back.
Another week elapses and I still hear no word from the technician. I call back again slightly frustrated and I am told I would need a complete replacement because the housing had a severe crack and was not repairable. I asked him what manufacturer they prefer to install for a complete replacement. He mentioned brand, Zebco, and stated Todd would for sure call me with a revised quote immediately. I make sure he reads my phone number and address back to me aloud. He has my contact information 100% accurate and I am in their system from previous, paid in full work.
ANOTHER week goes by and no call from anyone at Shades of Green. At this point I am extremely agitated as I have now missed the City of Clive's deadline for filing backflow testing results. I call again and speak to a lady on the phone. I tell her it has been over three weeks and I have not yet received one call from anyone at the business. I tell her I feel they are holding me hostage at this point. She understands completely and states she will personally see to it that Todd gets the message to call me immediately.
Another week goes by and with no call back, I study up on the install using Youtube and order a different brand (per recommendation of A+ Lawn and Landscape) of backflow from Lowes online. I install it without a problem and scheduled A+ Lawn and Lanscape to perform the testing. All this was done within 2 weeks and YET in the meantime no call from ANYONE at Shades of Green. I have never in my adult life had to work to so hard to get a company to take my money. Todd, the blatant ignoring by you is absolutely shameful. If you are too busy, tell me so, and I will move onto another provider without resent. I lived in an established neighbor and know most of my neighbors who have irrigation systems, I will be sure to share my experiences with them. In the meantime, you are in possession of my faulty backflow preventer that you probably don't even realize nor care to. Please remove me from your mailing list and stop sending me lawn treatment quotes. Since you will not be allowed back on my property, you can keep my backflow preventer. It has been over 6 weeks now, and still NO word from ANYONE at Shades Of Green.
My experience with this company started when Perficut recommended them for residential service when they stopped. They pledged to honor Perficut's price, so I tried them. I made the appointment and took time off from work to meet them. An hour after the scheduled time, I gave up and called them to tell them I was waiting. The service guy showed up in the middle of the call without an apology or explanation. The work they did was fine, but when I got the bill it was the price Perficut used to charge plus a econd item--a 20 dollar filing fee.
That was in the spring. This fall we have found aa leak in our system and it is ready to shut down. I called to make the appointment(s) and was told that I needed to speak to an "irrigation manager" to do the simple process of scheduling appointments. I have never heard of such a thing. I was told they would call back the next day and have still not been contacted a week and two days later. I have, however, gotten email reminders to schedule my shut down, to which I replied via email that I already had a call in and had not been contacted. I have received no contact from the company and have chosen another business. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
