Mercy West Pediatric Clinic

Dr. Shash was our pediatrician for many years. Towards the last year we had her she began to lower standard of care. She wasted our time, flip flopped on decisions leaving us to wait in her office for hours. She was disrespectful and acted like we were not important. Finally one time after her making me wait four hours in her office I left and as I was walking out she said "Good we don't have to deal with you anymore." I told her then we would not be back. I changed pediatricians immediately but two months later she sent me a letter saying we were kicked out of all mercy pediatric clinics. I never yelled at her or did anything to warrant her being the way she was. She was angry I told her we wouldn't use her anymore. So she decided to be petty and waste my time further with the letter since we would never return anyway. It's like the person who gets fired and then says you can't fire me I quit. We have been extremely happy with our new pediatrician but I want to warn everyone do not use Dr. Shash. She will be disrespectful, ignore your concerns and waste your time. There are much better pediatricians to send your children to.

She is awesome. I would kidnap her if it was legal. I one time took my son to the walk-in clinic. I didn't make an appointment and I just ended up whatever provider you see is who you get. You don't get to choose. She happened to ride on the elevator with me. She did a small exam on my son in the elevator. We walked past everyone waiting at the walk-in clinic. She took us in the back door. She saw my son in the office and we were out even before the walk-in clinic opened. I felt kind of guilty walking past all those people in front of me. She is fantastic.

We see dr Jon vanroekel who is awesome with the kids. We also have see the nurse practitioner. The only downside is that there are no longer RNs or even LPNs on staff, only med aids etc. overall the staff is good and we like the office.

Great! My granddaughter was visiting and had a temperature. I was concerned about ear infection or strept throat. I was able to get her into the clinic within a few hours and she was seen within 15 minutes. Everyone was friendly and professional.

He is really great with the girls as far as making it fun for them. He is also extremely knowledgeable from the medical standpoint. He always gives pointers about sunscreen, their diet, and their food. They have walk in hours every morning from 8 to 9.

They are very informative and everything was fine. They also work with the parents to understand the kid's medicines. They are very kids friendly, very nice office. The staffs are also friendly and do very through work. They take their time to explain what's going on.

He is great with kids and we have always felt comfortable with him. He isn't easy to get into last-minute, but the other doctors in his office are good too. The office also has walk-in hours right away in the morning if you need to get in last-minute. I would highly recommend him.

I thought that she was very informative and I didn?t have to ask her a lot of questions. She handled all the questions that I would have asked. She told me things that I should know about my child at that certain age. She was very friendly and open to questions. She took time and didn?t rush through the appointment.

Our boys love "Dr John". Dr. Van Roekel is great with the kids - but also with us. He doesn't sugar coat things but at the same time he doesn't talk over our heads. He has a good sense of humor and helps us keep things in perspective, but also conveys the appropriate informatino so that we do understand the seriousness of certain situations. He never makes us feel like we're wasting his time, 1 question or 50 questions. My only complaint, he is soooo busy that we have to schedule an office visit quite a bit in advance. If you need him on a short notice, goood luck! On the other hand, Julie, the ARN is excellent also.
