It was a small process in choosing the flooring that I wanted. They had so many types, sizes and colors of stain. After I decided on the type of wood, then the size of the plank, they scheduled me into their schedule. Kathy was who I worked with, but they are all great. The turn around time was longer than I expected- about 6 weeks. But now I understand that they had to order the wood, cut it to my different sizes, top scrape, burn edges... The anticipation of what my floors would like was the worst part. I could't wait. Finally the wood was ready. It had to acclimate to my house for a week.
The men tore out the carpet in a morning for two rooms. They started laying the dining room first. That took the rest of the first day and into the next. When done with the dining room, they layed the family room. That took a whole day. One more day for the top oil coat. We couldn't walk on the finished product for 48 hours. Everyone involved with the process was great. They are truly a local family business, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for high quality custom wood flooring!!
"We are sorry that this client has a bad experience with Barnum Floors. We did our best to attempt to meet his needs and found it impossible to move forward with the project. He had three 200 lb Mastiff dogs in cages in his dining room while we were trying to work. It was virtually impossible to coat the floor without hair in the finish."
