PREFERRED PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

This company is horrible! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! We lived in a well maintained apartment building with good tenants until our owner died and this company took over. They have rented to drug dealers, partying college students and people who in general have no respect for their neighbors. I don't know where they get their background checks done but they are not effective. Whenever we request service it doesn't get done until we call them over and over. The company has an online form to request maintenance but when we fill these forms out they are never addressed until we call and call. Sometimes we actually have to go into the office to get them to do anything. The washer/dryer malfunctioned and the washer didn't work and was getting moldy. Instead of getting rid of this old and dangerous appliance, PPM kept that old machine for us to use as dryer and bought an outdated washing machine which is so bad I have to leave my clothes soaking in the hot water for an hour before running the machine to get them half-way clean. The weeds in front of the building are now about 4 feet tall. No outside maintenance is supervised or followed up on. Our carpet is ruined. It has many stains and PPM refused to replace the carpet before we moved in. They had it professionally cleaned and the stains disappeared between the time we moved in and a week later. Obviously the stains are in the padding underneath the carpet and it should have all been removed but the company simply hid the problem. We got documentation that we are not liable for the carpet damage but we are stuck living with ruined carpet. The girl a the front desk has been rude when we have called. When we called to report dangerous activity from neighbors she told us we should go talk to the neighbors instead of PPM handling the problem. Overall this company has shown no interest in doing a good job or caring at all about the lives of the people they are supposed to be helping. Avoid this company if you want to live in a safe and clean environment.
