Elite Concrete of Cedar Rapids

Last summer, Elite Concrete (Corey Eckley) replaced our cement patio. Over the winter, we heard loud popping noises and early this spring we discovered several cracks in the new patio. And, as time goes on, more cracks are continuing to appear and chips of cement are coming off along some of the cracks. We sent two emails to Corey Eckley, one on June 16 and one on June 24, stating the problem and requesting that he address the issue. We assumed that since the patio had been in place for less than one year, Mr. Eckley would resolve the problem. He never replied to our emails so on July 16, we tried to call him at two phone numbers associated with him but were unsuccessful as both lines have been disconnected. His workmanship was questionable from the beginning. He had told us in an email that he would use plywood to protect high traffic areas of our lawn during installation. He did not and as a result these high traffic areas were gutted and stripped of sod. He also told us in the same email that he wanted full payment upon completion of the project but then later told us that he wanted half of the money up front to cover some of his costs. At this point, we believe that we have paid $2100 for shabby workmanship and will have to live with the results and eventually have to pay for cement patio replacement again. We do hope, however, that the publication of our experience will warn others to steer clear of any business run by Corey Eckley
