The work was done about half year ago and in the two brief wind storms in the last month I have lost more 7 additional branches more that we have experienced in the sum of our 4 years at this home. One was a large and stately branch. The arborist I hired to clean the tree up pointed out that the method D & D used to trim the tree is called a "lion's tail", where all the side branches leading to the end are cut off leaving multiple smaller branches at the end. The terminal end of the large branches are left with the weight. I was displeased at the time due to the appearance, But an even bigger problem is that a wind storm this causes more movement and stress on the main branch. Makes sense. I am upset about the stately tree in our front yard, made weaker and less grand.
