They are always prompt and return my phone calls. They are always super reasonable with their prices as well.
"Looked in our system can not find this customer Usually if the unit stopped working days after someone was there a call is needed. 1. So we are informed. 2. So that we can check the unit and find out what happened. 3. $65.00 is a Tune and Clean not a trouble call, they are $77.00 + tax 4. Says the call was on march of last year ,usually to cold in March for A/C We can only solve problems if we are informed there is one ."
The price was 60% higher than a second bid, which came to late to consider. They charged $50 and $45 / hour for labor. They had to rework the main cold air return because it extended beyond the wall they were told and shown would exist after they were done. This rework time was likely included in their final bill. They used the space between the rafters as ducts instead of running new duct work, which was ok. However, part of the extra rework involved no longer using one of those rafter ducts, which exposed shoddy workmanship: They had not removed a board between the rafters that restricted at least half of its air flow. They also closed off 10 unused feet of that rafter run, even though most of it was completely blocked by a board between the rafters. I haven't seen inside the two rafters that were used since they are blocked off, but was told that one of them is completely open and the other one is half blocked, which should be ok.
They moved some plumbing to an inconvenient location for our later finish work, which may have to be redone (by someone else at added cost). To replace two copper pipes with Pecks in a different location was a $480 add on. The pecks could have gone to a location that would not have interfered with the later work if they just chosen the other side of a large pipe that can not be moved.
They were asked to raise and anchor an existing rectangular duct to make clearance for a future ceiling, which they did, but they only anchored one side. The side they didn't anchor was too low so that work had to be completely redone by me.
We were told they would work Monday, perform a different job Tuesday, and finish up the job Wednesday. After nobody showed up by Wednesday noon I called and they had rescheduled my job for the next Tuesday. They revised their schedule and finished the job Thursday, which was before the relatives arrived. This was a misunderstanding, as they thought the job was ready for my relative visit when they left Monday, and the final finish would be scheduled at a later time.
"The Cons portion of [removed member name] review are not accurate. We gave [removed member name] a quote for what work needed to be done after coming and seeing the work space involved. He gave us the ok to start working then called for a second quote from another company after we started the job. The labor charges were included with the quote given by us. He also was concerned about a time frame because he had family coming in to town for a wedding and wanted it to be done quickly. Since it is summer and our busiest time, our company rescheduled multiple other appointments to fit [removed member name] in quickly as asked. Also we over quoted the amount the job would cost and did return any extra money that wasn’t used for this project. $150.00 In Regards to the duct work installed. [removed member name] suggested that we not run duct work and use the rafters instead, which we did per his request. The “Shoddy workmanship” [removed member name] is referring to is the fact that we did not remove any support joists in the rafters for safety concerns. We had recommended 3 joists places to make up for the lost area due to the bracing. Customer Changed original idea of 3 to 2. The cross braces between the floor joists are meant to stiffen the floor, share concentrated loads between the floor joists, and prevent the floor joists from twisting. Admittedly after they've fully dried out there is less risk of the floor joists twisting, however by removing them he has removed some of the floor’s stiffness. As a result, he may end up having a little more bounce on the first floor and deflection between adjacent joists under heavy loads. If he has tile flooring above, this could lead to crack and loose tile problems. In addition, even though the joists are fully dried out under a heavy load they could still twist a little. In regards to the plumbing work performed. We did discuss where to put plumbing in which [removed member name] agreed. Now he is saying that we placed it in a different area then we agreed. Also didn’t charge for 1 hour of labor for 2 technicians placing the plumbing work. $90.00 deduction trying to give the customer the best deal. In response to raising the existing duct work that was lower, [removed member name] asked “Can you put up a couple of anchors to support and raise the duct work higher” After installing two anchors and raising the existing duct work higher. [removed member name] replied “thanks, much better”. In addition to these things [removed member name] frequently changed his mind after work would begin on a project, so technicians would have to take out/ down and replace work already done. Costing more time from the technicians and money for [removed member name]."
