Appliance Repair
Walt came out and ran some tests to diagnose the problem. He left with the ice maker unit so he could test in his shop, and ordered a replacement valve. He said the valve is probably bad, given the age of the refrigerator. Upon his return, he installed the valve and stated that the ice maker unit was OK. When he left, he stated that the water pressure was probably too low to operate the new valve. Ice maker still did not make ice. After several calls and discussions, Walt refused to look further into this, as he blamed the water pressure on the problem. In the end, he did not get to the bottom of this problem, and did not charge for the visit or the valve. I contacted another repair shop (Lampe), and they diagnosed the saddle valve as the source of the problem. Replaced the valve and everything worked perfectly.
