I have used this company for several years and am totally and positively impressed by them. They are on time, polite and do quality work. When I moved to Des Moines in 2016 I was worried about finding a company as good as the company I left. I needn't have worried, they are even better! I highly recommend.

Prompt service - diagnosed freon low and refilled - unit works great and minimal cost. The tech knows our system and is able to quickly resolve any issue when they sporadically occur. Quality, reliable service!

They answered all my questions about the geothermal unit, they also installed a humidifier on the unit. It has been giving us trouble (not Working all the time) they have responded when we call. The cost of the fall check up was Appxo. $100

We have used Wyckoff for years. They offer a spring and fall cleaning/inspection that we have always depended on. In our large family home we replaced the entire HVAC with them and we were upgraded to a better model for the same price as the one quoted. When we moved to a smaller town home, we kept their service. They are very professional and courteous. We recommend them highly.

Registration of the attachment took the most time. The technician patiently showed me how to control the thermostat from my phone and laptop.

They did a great job. Their price was pretty reasonable. I remember them being reasonable, prompt, neat. Their work seemed to be very polished. They wree able to work in a small space, because i have a really small utility closet. I haven't had any trouble with the system. The furnace was the first one I'd ever bought and I did't compare a lot.

The scheduled appointment was to be around noon. They did not show, but did get a call they were running late. Eventually, they called again and said they would not be here that day; complete day of waiting on them wasted. They did come the next day at the time agreed to, and the installation was ok until time to hook up the water line. Instead of hooking the line to a close Pex pipe with an inline quality connector, they ran a flexible copper line all the way to my water heater and used a cheap saddle valve on the inlet side. The valve is functional, but pierces the original pipe, looks bad, and saddle valves are known for the potential of seal failure and leakage. We paid top price to support the local business, but did not get top value or workmanship.

Wycoffs installed the hvac system in my new house in 2009. The day we moved in the system would not even turn on. I called them out and they told me that the tech who installed the system had been fired and that he had wired it wrong. They also found that there was no freon in the system and they recharged it. All was well until the next summer when the unit froze up on the hottest day of the year. I called them and they came out the next day and told me it was because I needed a new filter. I replaced the filter and the unit was still freezing up. So they sent the same tech out who cut a gnarly hole in the side of the duct to check for leaks, said he couldn?t find any and put a patch over the hole. He also apparently didn?t have any tape because he used the blue painters tape off my bench to cover one of the smaller holes he punched in the duct with a screwdriver to check the temperature. He couldn?t find any leaks so he recharged the system. All was well until the next summer when the unit again froze over. The tech came out and found a leak at one of the service ports so he replaced it and recharged the system. We actually made it through one whole summer, but the following summer, same old story. The unit was freezing over again. When I called in the new service manager wanted to charge me to come out because obviously this was a new issue because we didn?t have to call them last summer. ( I guess that is their idea of success, making it through one whole summer on a system that is only 3 years old.) When I told him I didn?t think I should have to pay since they never fixed it right, he told me ?sometimes thats just the way it goes? I proceeded to tell him that I work on cars and know a little about how ac works. He then screamed at me through the phone and said ?then why don?t you fix it yourself? He then hung up on me. Then I called and spoke to the owner, who apologized and agreed to send out a tech at no charge. The tech came out and said the coil was probably bad and it was under parts warranty but not labor warranty. The labor would be about $600. I called and asked the owner why I should have to pay for labor because if they had fixed it properly the first year it would have been covered completely. He then offered to split the cost in half with me. I told him I would think about it. About 15 minutes later he called ME saying there was a recall on my unit and they would come inspect it in a couple of days. The next day the system would not even turn on so I made an emergency call to them and PAID $200 to fix it. When the tech showed up I told him the whole story and he said, ?there?s no recalls on this unit? He checked the system over found the same port was leaking again, so he changed it and refilled the system. This brings us to today, almost 6 years later, my a/c is again not cooling properly and is completely out of warranty. There were more negative experiences with them but this review is long enough already, I?m sure you get the point.

My ratings are for both my last repair and the overall service for the last three years.   I want to like Wyckoff and recommend them and I hope that they are better with regular Heat and A/C than they are with Heat Pumps.   We bought a house with Heat Pump issues.   It seemed like they were constantly throwing parts and repairs at the problem.   Kenny was the only one that impressed me that he knew anything about Heat Pumps but he didn't even tell us that our heat pump was not properly installed since it was not the recommended height off the ground.
We had it services, reserves, a circuit board replaced, a new thermostat, new refrigerant.  Also, they often did not pay attention to what they were doing.  Like leaving the outside electrical switch open.  Not turning it back on. Leaving left over parts in the work area after leaving, etc.
Also, they put in a humidifier that has rarely worked.   We simply gave up having them out to fix it after a while.
Recently when I had an issue I called their number and explained it to the lady that answered.  She got very flustered and blurted out, "I just answer the phones.  I am one of the Wycoffs but we ladies in the office don't have control over any of that."  Of course, whenever you hear that kind of thing, there are broader issues at play.
On the other hand, they have some really nice people.  They were always respectful of my home and seemed to be trying.  I hope they work out these issues.

Everything went great and works well.  The installer stayed late to get A.C. working enough since it was so hot.  They addressed the issues I had with different temps on different levels.  Gave honest opinions and options.
