Tuffy Tire & Auto Center

First of all, Tuffy was going to charge me $750 for a routine oil change, to replace the idle air control valve, and spark plugs. These are parts that cost my brother $135 to purchase at Autozone the day of at their Ankeny store. So, $750 minus $135, minus about $50 for an oil change, comes to about $565 of labor. That is outrageous. After speaking with my brother, I realized that it was clearly a padded bill and called to cancel it immediately.
Second, upon my call to ask for the services to be stopped minutes after I agreed for them to begin, the manager informed me that the mechanic had "accidentally broke the idle air control valve" and that I would have to pay $250 to replace it. I came into the store to speak with the manager about it and explain that it was only fair that the store replace it since they broke it. He then informed me that the part was actually broken before it was removed. Isn't that curious? I requested that the manager call his owner to resolve this situation. I explained to the owner that when a business makes a mistake, it must incur the fees to repair it. I made no "threats" at all, as the owner replied to my Google Review. (I posted a review on Google about a week ago.) I calmly informed him that I have an Angie's List account and that I would be posting reviews informing the general public about the situation if he did not replace the part his mechanic broke. Then, he shouted, "Will you get out of my store if I give you the oil change for free?!" Naturally, I agreed, and promised not to write anything about the service provided to my car. The owner interrupted me several times and shouted at me in the phone. On the contrary, I remained calm and at no time displayed any characteristics that define "enraged" as the owner wrote in his reply to my Google Review. The owner also stated in his reply that he repaired my car completely. However, his staff only performed the oil change and did not replace or repair any part on my car, including the part they broke. At no point did I say that I wanted to walk out of the store without paying for my oil change. 
At no time was I raising my voice or using harsh words. After I handed the phone back to the manager, I heard the owner say to him, "Get that b**** out of my store!" This is blatant sexism and unacceptable in 2014. The culture that Mr. Moomey has created at his Tuffy Tire & Auto Ankeny franchise is hostile to every woman as evidenced by his sexist remark to me. This is the purpose of my review: to state how utterly pathetic Tuffy Tire & Auto Center's customer service is as a result of their owner's lack of professionalism and their clear habit of ripping holes in the pockets of unknowing woman such as I. Further, I am an assertive woman who does not tolerate padded bills, not a b****.
