The McDaniels are very poor communicators. We often had to "pry: information from them about showing responses. They once held a realtor's open house at our place in January and NEVER provided any response about the event. They do not respond in a timely fashion to questions. It often takes more than 24 hours to get a simple answer to a question.
Turns out, the McDaniels have seldom sold a house for over 250K. (Ours is priced in the 400's) They are one of the lowest producers in the Des Moines area, having sold only 19 homes in 2013 with a high sale of 269K. They rank in the lowest 20% of producers in the area.(per Zillow.) They have NEVER sold a home in our location. Needless to say, they didn't provide any of this information when they listed our home. We are disappointed in ourselves that we didn't do more detailed research on the McDaniel's before we had them list our home.
Our contract with the McDaniel's expires on March 24 of 2014. We had another open house on March 2 and Lisa McDaniel left a note reminding us that the contract will expire on the 24th and that they need to know what we intend to do after that ASAP, since they would be on vacation from March 14-24, I emailed them that we wanted to terminate the contract on March 10, so that we could find another realtor who could help us while they were gone.
Shortly after that, I got a call from Jim McDaniel saying that they were going to HOLD US TO THE CONTRACT until the end. He was VERY RUDE, INSISTANT, AND DEMANDING! I pointed out that they would not be able to help us while they were gone on vacation. They offered no substitute realtor or any other solutions.
DO NOT USE JIM AND LISA McDaniel FROM IOWA REALTY IN ANKENY! AVOID A MAJOR DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!
