This was a collaborative endeavor from the very beginning.  The owner explained the importance of the drainage system to ensure stability of the stone walls. He and the crew told us how excited they were to start on our project; they liked projects like ours because the results were going to be awesome!  Even though there were some rain delays, which is to be expected, we were kept up-to-date on the project.  Materials used on the project are top-notch, however, it's the professional, hardworking crew, and their artistic crew leader who are the real story here.  Cutting, shaping, and sanding the stone surfaces to make each fit perfectly next to a boulder or another stone - this is art!
This was a big project, and we can't imagine anyone other than Green Bean to have been on board to create our beautiful front yard.

Greenbean really did the job right. They worked tirelessly for four weeks, during intense heat and humidity, and kept us informed of issues and decisions that needed to be made along the way.
  • They began by preparing the site. This included tearing out and hauling away the old concrete, bricks and limestones. Some of the concrete was 18" thick! They stacked the old limestone so we could reuse it for additional landscaping later.
  • Rebuilt the retaining walls in beautiful Anamosa limestone blocks using a properly engineered base. We chose this over concrete block even though it added considerable expense - and it was so worth it! We also chose the labor intensive cut joints for a seamless look and it looks absolutely awesome.
  • They installed drain tile for the retaining walls and stabilized and strengthened the wall with geogrid.
  • Installed paver base and Bogert pavers on surface of patio. Suggested a pleasing pattern that looks great.
  • Installed new sod to patch construction damage.
  • Cleaned up and hauled away construction debris.
