Veterinarians
I been taking my cats to this vet since I got them from the shelter. Vaccinations and routine check up were fine.
For my female cat with various symptoms, it didn't go so well. The problems were never solved. She has really dry fur and skin, that was prescribed omega oil on food that only increased their appetite but did nothing for her coat. She had recurring itchy ears that been treated with local and oral medications, with improvements sometimes and no results some other times. I complained that she has excessive tear production (and no, she doesn't have the anatomical characteristics of a cat that will have that problem) and they dismissed it as normal. The last time I took her to have her ears checked was because the medication prescribed didn't work and they just sold me another ear cleaner and to keep cleaning (as if the other cleaner that was sold to me before by them wasnt good enough). Usually had a different vet checking for a recurring problem every time I had an appointment. Anyway, that was it for me, I changed vets, got her diagnosed with food allergy and she is being treated. No more excessive tear production, ears are not itchy anymore, her fur is slowly getting better, etc.

Response from Pet Medical Center of Ames
"I am the owning veterinarian. The first doctor you saw left over 2 years ago, the last Dr. you saw works only on Mondays, and possibly if I take a day off. I am Dr. Donna Rizzo. I take great pride in how I take care of my patients. I apologize if you thought you were abused. I depend on my clients to communicate with me so I can be sure all is corrected on our kids. I would suspect communication was lacking in this case. And I am sorry that you felt the need to complain this way rather than contacting me directly. I hope your kids continue to do well now, and I have marked your account as inactive, I hope your current veterinarian fills your needs. Do not forget to communicate completely with the individual."
