Although my kitchen design portion turned out well, I would never use KBH again. The design was nice as I wanted to keep with the traditional feel of my old farmhouse and the cabinets she picked out were great, however the speed in which she worked wasn't. The contract to work with her was signed in January 2011 and completed by Christmas 2011 (like days before and with extreme pressure from me). I actually had my own contractor and electrician do the work, she only had to order in the cabinets and provide the specs and advice. My contractor was wonderful but we did a lot of waiting for her to get us what we needed. I only had my new stove for a few months when the thermostat which indicates the heat of the oven went out. I will admit that this is an oven from England, an AGA, but really a thermostat should be expected to last longer than a few months. I asked her to order a replacement and needless to say, it's still not fixed. REALLY. I've contacted her many times and she says it's still on order but this is two years later. Is she lying?....you decide. Also, the lights in the kitchen are LED's which are great, but with every temperature change outside our lights blink non-stop sometimes for up to an hour. We feel like we're in a disco! Argh...I've also contacted her about that but of course she say's she'll figure it out... she never has! We are going to have to hire someone else at our expense to track down the problem. Another issue is the fan she installed in the kitchen....we wanted some air movement to keep the kitchen cooler. She put the ceiling fan above the doorway between the kitchen and dining room and it creates an air curtain that keeps the hot air in the kitchen and the cool air in the dining room. Not a good idea. Although I love the way my kitchen looks I can not give KHB a good grade. I expect professional business people to be professional but we are sorely disappointed with KBH!
