Staff was friendly, cleaning and exam went ok. Had it been just myself, I would have said it was a perfect visit - short, sweet and to the point. Since this was my son's first ever visit, I was hoping for a little more detailed visit. I've done my best to start his oral hygiene, but I was hoping for them to teach him a little bit more. The hygeinist did the cleaning, the dentist did a quick 5 minute exam ($73), and then the hygienist finished and helped schedule his next 6 month and tried to schedule for the 3rd. As I said, had it been for myself, it would have been fine, but since it was my son's first time, although we left happy, I felt like we were rushed in and out.

Terrible. Worked out a payment plan, but the woman I spoke with about it forgot to communicate that, so I was turned into collections...ruining my credit score. When confronted about it, she admitted it was her fault, but didn't seem to care and said there was nothing she could do.

Work was sub-standard. I had to visit another dentist to have it redone.

Repair did not last, wrong color, damaged tooth.

After my dentist of almost 30 years retired, I had to find a new dental home. After reading overwhelmingly positive reviews about Altoona Smiles, I made an appointment for my 6 month checkup. They were extremely accommodating and were able to schedule my appointment when I needed it at a time that was convenient for me.
As soon as I walked in I was greeted as though I were an old friend. Nishelle and Kyrie are fantastic about making new patients feel at home the moment they walk through the door. The entire office is very clean, nice and professional.
My appointment was exactly on time. April, my dental hygienist, made me feel at ease with my cleaning and explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. Once the initial exam was over, the dentist came in and checked things over. Dr. Brummel has an incredible and quot;chairside mannerand quot; that instantly puts people at ease. It turns out I had some minor issues that needed addressed, and Dr. Brummel was very good about explaining what needed to be done.
After my exam and cleaning I went back to the front desk and, much to my surprise, they were able to get me in the very next day to have the work done and a time that worked well for my schedule.
That appointment was also great; it was on time, and Stephanie (the dental assistant) carefully explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Once again Dr. Brummel showed her wonderful chairside manner as she did the work.
It's clear that everyone at Altoona Smiles has a passion for what they do, and that reflects to the patients and makes them feel comfortable in an environment that is normally uncomfortable. It's not often that I can say that I enjoy going to the dentist, but Altoona Smiles and the staff are the exceptional exception.

Making the appointment went very well. The women I spoke with was very nice and very accommodating. I was greeted with a smile upon arrival and everyone that I can in contact with was very nice and very helpful.
