Scheduling was a bit of a problem, but once the work was completed it was well done and exactly the way we wanted. It involved not only traditional rain gutters but also running part of the gutter via PVC pipe through a storage closet in the carport to the outside of the driveway. Cleverly done

The staff were very knowledgeable. The quality of workmanship was very good, great attention to detail. The staff were polite and helpful. Daily job site cleanup was very thorough. Very satisfied with job well done

on day of install, their trucks blocked our neighbor's driveway and they would not move to allow them access/after install, i found TONS of roofing nails on the ground,in the gutters and on branches of potted plants/old shingles not picked up-strewn all over perimeter of roof/large pieces of black waterproofing material strewn about property also... i have/took pics

Tropical Roof and Raingutters are very professional, do good work, are prompt and fast, and are excellent about fixing problems such as joints that need resoldering. They did what they said they would do and did it in a timely manner, including coming back months later to finish part of the job that had to be delayed until another structure was out of the way. The crews are very nice, professional, and personable, and they do a great job of cleanup each day.

a) the price(s) the sales consultant provided for the roofing and solar fans were pre-tax but not noted on the quote
tax was added when I was invoiced through e-mail - after much discussion, the original pre-tax quote was honored
b) roofers chucked shingle pieces and lining material, along with roofing tacks with bright orange "washers" over the edges of the roof - tacks were in the rain gutters, all over the ground, shingle chunks as well, + lining material strewn about
c) roofers were very quick in installing, save the littering, I would have rated overall professionalism "C" instead of "D"

What actually happened was 2 guys showed up with a ladder and cleaned out the gutters by hand in less than 2 hours. No special scaffolding, no taking apart and reassembling the downspouts. I was surprised and I called and asked to speak to the owner as I assumed that the sales guy had made a mistake. . The owner told me that they bid high when they don't really want to do a job, and that if we were stupid enough to take the high bid that was our problem. He said that normally they would have charged about 500-600 for a job our size. I said his salesperson had told us of all this extra work that would need to be done, which didn't have to get done, and was basically lying to us about the scope of the project. The owner's attitude was "too bad you're so stupid". Finally, he said he would reduce the amount from 1931. 78 to 1200. This was still at least double what we should have been charged (according to his own admission). I can't believe that people this dishonest stay in business. At least they cleaned the gutters - but they were quite happy to charge us double the price! Even $600 is expensive when you think about it... 2 guys with ladders for 2 hours? Come on.

"I remember this project in Nu'uanu. We explained to her that because her home has such a steep slope, we would have to clean the gutters using ladders, and that there is no way to tell if we would have to take apart the 4 copper downspouts on her home, and gave her the price to cover the dismantling all of them. She agreed to the terms and we went to work. A standard cleaning like this only takes 2 to 3 people max. I'm not sure where she got the notion that we needed 5 to 7 people for this project. We did use ladders to clean the gutters to be sure the integrity of the roofing system was not compromised, and we did end up taking apart and reassembling 2 of the 4 rain gutters. We explained what needed to be done, and we did to the best of our abilities. We did complete the project with the day, and we did do what we promised, there is no reason for this project to take longer than it should've. The home owner did not feel that we did enough, to try and make her happy, the owner of the company did give her a price adjustment as there were 2 downspouts that we could cleaned without dismantling. I'm sorry that this homeowner did not have a better experience with us. She agreed to the terms before we began. The end result was what she wanted, we did the work we promised, she even paid less then she agreed. It seemed that we had a good understanding of what needed to be done, and how we were going to do it. We do our best to do what we promise, and we do try to work out grievances to the best of our abilities. We wish her good luck in her future, and still thank her for the work opportunity."
