I called on a Thursday but they did not have an opening until the following Wednesday. I dropped the vehicle off when they opened that day and they addressed the most serious issue but could not get the car to reproduce some of the minor issues I had told them about. They believed the issue to be fixed so I drove home that night. Just before arriving home the minor issues (transmission shifting on its own because of hitting a bump in the road). I called them when I reached home and they urged me to bring it back uthe next day. I took the vehicle back the next afternoon and took their service chief for a ride. I could not get the vehicle to reproduce the shifting so I took it home. It is my only vehicle. I do not want to keep asking for rides from co-workers nor miss any more work. So at this time I am going to keep driving it until I can drop it off again: perhaps after buying another vehicle. I have also thought of taking the car to another specialst hoping that they can tell from the symptoms I give them exactly what the issue is and how to fix it.
I noted that the work 'was not done' only because all the issues have not been fixed. Currently, the car is running more and more poorly and once I purchase another vehicle I may leave the vehicle with them again since it has to be easier to see exactly what is wrong since it happens with more regularity now.

My wife's car was having trouble shifting gears smoothly. I took it to our regular mechanic, but it was beyond his expertise so he recommended Pearl City Transmission. We made an appointment to have her car run through a full diagnostic procedure. I didn't realize we would have to leave the car overnight, so be sure to check before you go.. I think this attests to their professionalism because they made sure to do a thorough test when the car was both hot and cold. When we picked up the car, it was reassuring to know that the transmission itself was just fine. All it needed was an update to the transmission control computer. Unfortunately, only the dealership could do this. I appreciate the honesty and friendliness of all the employees at Pearl City Transmission. They spent a lot of their time to perform a diagnostic on the car and didn't charge us anything. They were also honest in telling us they could not fix the problem, but helped us find out how we could. If I have a future transmission problem I will definitely take my car back.
