Winn was very knowledgeable and was able to not only do the work for me, but provide input on my choices to ensure I had the best results based on my needs. I had a very tight deadline for the project and Winn and his team worked through the weekends and evening to make sure the project was done. All of the workers were very respectful and responded well when asked to do anything differently. He was honest and didn't try to charge me extra for changes made during the project. He kept every receipt of everything he purchased to provide to me at the end of the project to show me where the materials costs were coming from.
At the final inspection, there were a few items that still needed to be completed but given the size of the project and the time frame allotted I was not concerned. Winn was also very responsive to ensuring the small details would be finished and anytime I have contacted him after the completion of the project (meaning he had already been paid in full) to ask questions or for small changes, he was more than happy to come back and help fix them.
Whoever reads this should note that I HATE doing construction and I have had horrible experiences with contractors. Winn has by far been the BEST contractor I have EVER worked with. He is extremely polite and respectful, he is responsive (there wasn't once when I called him that he didn't answer or immediately call me back within a 30 minute window). And he did everything to my liking (if I wasn't happy with the outcome, he redid it until I was). I had 4 people give me estimates and he gave me the best deal of them all and was the most polite and responsive during the estimate process. I liked him so much, I have requested his services on several other small projects (paint touch ups on my other property, closet installs, and small projects due to water damage). I highly recommend Winn for any and all contractor services you may need!

I called Hawaii General Service based on the 1 review on read on Angieslist.  Wow, I struck gold.  This gentleman is excellent and is a complete professional with a gift for fixing stuff.  I had about 10 items around my apartment that needed repairs.  If I had called the property manager they would have sent a locksmith, a plumber, an electrician, and probably a lawn guy.  This would have cost my landlord easily at least $150 just for each of these 4 people to show up.  Winn (that's the guy who runs Hawaii General Service) was able to do everything which really simplified all the repairs instead of coordinating with 3-4 different people, making appointments, etc.  Winn typically will either pick up the phone or call you back in a couple hours if he's already out on a job.  He came over within 48 hours to survey the issues and gave me an estimate.  He showed up with a big repair truck and either had all the parts we needed for the repairs or was able to get them.  In one case Winn allowed me to get parts at a nearby Lowe's to save a couple bucks.  In all it took about 10-12 hours over 2.5 days for him to do everything. My final price, to include the parts he provided (not included some parts I purchased at Lowe's) was just over $700.  Winn did an exceptional job with all the repairs, always showed up promptly, talked with me about various options on parts and labor, offered tips to $ave money, and frankly seems like a very sincere gentleman who is willing to provide great customer service for a very reasonable, honest price.  In addition, he speaks clearly and is clean and presentable.  Big thumbs up from me!  I'll be calling Winn next time I need repairs.
Incidentally, Winn doesn't advertise and just survives on word-of-mouth.  Apparently a previous customer posted his profile on AngiesList.  Thank you to whoever it was that posted the review!

He’s easy to get in touch with.  He always has a majority of the parts on his truck and if not he runs to the store to get the items.  He has good pricing.  He cleans up his mess when he’s done.  He’s also very friendly.
