When our garage door opener quit working I searched online for consumer information and then called several local companies for estimates. After checking the price of a top rated door opener at The Home Depot (Chamberlain belt drive), we filled out contact information to obtain an estimate for installation. Piilani from H & H called the same day with an estimate where the total cost of opener & installation was $200 less than another company we had found reliable when we needed a repair. As we had not yet purchased the opener, we wrote down the contact information to schedule installation later. Of course this piece of paper went missing and it took several phone calls with The Home Depot before we were referred once again to H & H (my husband couldn't remember the name of the company). Scheduling the installation was simple and the technician was efficient, courteous, and neat. When the technician carried our old opener to his truck for disposal before checking (we planned to put it out for bulk trash pickup) he corrected the bill to the original estimate.

The H&H technician arrived exactly on time and the work took about 30 minutes to complete. He was very professional, courteous and competent. He candidly answered all questions and was extremely efficient. We could not be happier with the work that was done.

They replaced the operating mechanism which I had purchased from them a year and a half ago, and of course the warranty expired after a year. Even though that upset me, my issue was when I recieved the bill, it had a charge of $45.00 for "Travel Time Only" . Really???
I live less than 4 miles from their place of business. Are they using gold infused gasoline to power their service vehicles? And why am I paying for travel time at all, you fix and install garage doors, it's not like I can bring the door to you for service.
I can assure you the next time I have an issue with my garage door, I will not be calling H& H Overhead Doors of Oahu.

That is a standard price we charge instead of our regular $85.00 service when we arrive at a customer's home and find that possibly slight adjustments have to be made instead of a full service (or in your situation-we were replacing a motor rail). roll up gate got stuck, and couldnt close the gate.

I didn't pull into the garage far enough and the door hit the vehicle. there was a pop and the rollers came off the hinges. I got one back, but not the other. I did't know if a spring broke. I called and spoke with Valerie who was able to get Ian to come out really quickly. He looked at the situation, did some minor repairs and adjusting. Valarie was very up front about possible costs and problems. Thank you.

On the morning of April 11, I returned home and parked my car in the garage. Upon shutting the door, both garage door springs and lifting cables snapped, slamming the door shut and locking the car into the garage. Since I had to go to work later that evening, it was quite emergent that I get this repaired. After searching the Yellow Pages, the first company to answer was H&H Overhead Door. I explained the situation and deemed the repair emergent and necessary, and within an hour, a technician came out to do measurements and estimations. The company provided quite a few follow-up and progress phone calls telling me the status of the technicians, the estimated arrival times, and who would be coming out to check on my garage door. The time-frame and the arrivals were pretty accurate, and both technicians who arrived were courteous and respectful. After looking at my garage door, the technician said he had to go back and retrieve the parts that weren't carried on his truck, and that he would be back shortly. Another technician came with the right parts and proceeded to repair by garage springs and cables in approximately 1 hour. The work came with a guarantee for a year and parts replacement should the repair work fail. Comparing the price of a whole garage door set, and the prices of replacement parts, it's usually overall cheaper to replace the whole garage door. But due to the nature of the circumstances and the simple repairs that needed to be done, I didn't mind the overall bill, and was quite happy that I had a working garage door in the same day.
