I had a dry wall repair done by them. It was a pretty big job. Done so well and painting afterwards. I’ve never seen such a smooth wall. So happy either way the quality of work and done in time for company that was staying with us. Highly recommend

Good quality work. A little over estimation on materials which was an added expense. I would recommend Joe. The end result was a excellent.

Do not trust this guy when he promises 2 come back the next day 2 finish the job, insists that U pay in full and make it CASH. Furthermore, do not even dare 2 question Joe A LA CARTE Woodrum about his lack of communication and follow thru with his work when he leaves your home completely exposed with no way of securing it and/or express your disappointments because he will claim that he feels quote...THREATENED FOR HIS LIVELIHOOD...unquote. As Joe will try 2 justify that the arbitrator ruled in his favor for this reason, because he told the arbitrator quote...that he feels threatened by my husband from 10 plus feet away...unquote when my husband questioned him why he did not think it thru (because he is not skilled in this area to do so) and leave the job site in such an unacceptable manner. His response was quote...well that is what you get because your wife insists that she goes and buys the parts...unquote. Regardless that the materials I have purchased were for other future jobs that he was not supposed to start until he is done with the initial job we had hired him 2 do, but he has 2 make up some kind of lame excuse 2 justify his poor decision-making skills. Joe A LA CARTE Woodrum feels so threatened for his life that he came back after the check was written out 2 Maui Choice Construction, LLC and raised his voice at my husband 2 have me re-write the check in CASH. Joe A LA CARTE Woodrum failed 2 mention the other part of the arbitration ruling that was NOT IN HIS FAVOR. He asked 2 be compensated over $3,800 for a tool (instead of renting it) for the garage epoxy job that we of-course had 2 declined after seeing how he left our home completely exposed and taking no responsibility for it. A job that he has quoted $2,000 over another Home Advisor recommended handyman for a finished product. He will send U on a wild goose chase if U pay for parts (i.e. go here for this and go there for that even though he already knows that the places he sends U to do not carry those items). Also, I do not care if U have 2 get out of line several times 2 find my tools of the trade that should have been included with the job I bid for, because I am entitled 2 ask U to do that for me since U insist on buying your own parts. In the meantime, I will start cutting and/or leaving holes everywhere without telling U; knowing that U will run out of daylight after I send U on a wild goose chase 2 get materials for jobs that I have no intentions of wrapping up by the end of the day and leaving your home completely exposed with 4 gaping holes with no way to lock it up. Do not be like me and trust this guy only to find yourself in the dark trying to figure out how 2 close your garage doors and secure your home on a Sat. night after he leaves your property paid in full. Finally, a licensed contractor was kind enough 2 come out and diagnose the issue on Sun. morning and this is quoted directly from the invoice I had 2 pay for...troubleshoot the entire circuit out in the garage and dining area. Corrected improper wiring in switch box by removing 1 current-carrying conductor from the neutral, confirmed breaker for the circuit was inoperable due to the short....unquote. I will chalk this up as a lesson learned 2 never use Joe A-LA-CARTE Woodrum again and/or recommend Home Advisor for promoting this unlicensed and uninsured tradesman that will tell U to buy replacement tools that he breaks while doing a job. Joe A-LA-CARTE Woodrum is UNPROFESSIONAL, A COMPLETE RIP-OFF (charging over $325 per hour 2 hang a pre-hung double door) and A LIAR!!! If getting charged an outrageous amount for AN INCOMPLETE JOB is taking advantage of a HANDYMAN; I will take a hard pass and hire a LICENSED CONTRACTOR who knows what they are doing that will charge me less and actually complete the job. We live on a small island and U can only burn so many bridges and people will talk about your A-LA-CARTE way of doing business.
Response from Maui Choice Construction, LLC
"This customer was looking to take advantage of contractor's for free work. He has a history of doing this. I also do not work for customers that threaten to fight me. We went to court over this situation and it was awarded in my favor! This is a rather lengthy statement, but here is the statement from the arbitrator. Summary and Reasoning The undersigned is the duly appointed Arbitrator in the above-captioned matter. On June 15, 2020, the undersigned conducted a hearing via teleconference pursuant to the parties? post-dispute FairClaims Arbitration Agreement and the FairClaims Arbitration Rules & Procedures. Claimant and Respondent appeared"

Joe was prompt. He assessed the problem and fixed it immediately. He was honest and I liked that he starts work early since I am a morning person. I would definitely hire him again.
