The gutter replacement was great

They were punctual and installed my wood facia that I had specially treated and painted. The cost was identical to the other proposals but Alaka'i was the only one who responded. So far, I am satisfied with the quality of work and materials.

They carefully hand cleaned the gutters placing the rubbish into garbage bags. They then used our water hose to spray clean the remaining dirt/debris down the downspouts. Next they carefully installed the gutter guards, ensuring the house facing edge slipped under the existing roof shingles. And finally, they installed pipe to transport the rain along a fence and away from the house.
Here is where a discrepancy occurred between what was verbally promised and what was delivered. When they earlier came by to do the estimate, they said they would run the pipe through our gated fence to the outside. However, on the day of installation, they wanted to end the pipe short of the gate. If we were to allow this, it would eventually cause expensive water damage to the gate and fence and wall near the fence. I came up with the idea of using a length of the existing flexible tubing to bridge the gap between the pipe end and the fence. They agreed to do this. Hopefully, this will avoid the water damage while, at the same time, allow us to open the gate by temporarily removing the flexible tubing.

Great job at a reasonable cost.  Responded quickly for the estimate and came on time for the installation.  Problem solved with me for unique issues with my roof.  Results look great, my neighbors took note.  I"m extremely happy with the whole experience.

We received a reasonable estimate from Alaka'i some months ago, but we were unable to get the gutters put on because we needed to get some painting done first. We finally found a painter, and when we called Alaka'i back, they were still willing to do the job. They even honored their original estimate. They arrived promptly, behaved politely, worked competently and quickly, and cleaned up completely. The gutters look very good. Now I can't wait for it to rain, so we can check them out!
It has rained. They work just fine.

What was originally estimated to be a quick gutter job turned into a major carpentry, painting, and gutter job. Glenn and his crew were great and although it took longer than anticipated because of some surprises learned only after removing the old gutters. Glenn did what it took to make the job come out right. He is very much in demand and hadn't planned on spending so much time on our job, but he reassessed, followed through, and had to add on more work to fabricate new nosing to replace the shoddy original workmanship. This involved an add-on cost, but it was reasonable and we are very satisfied. I would recommend Alakai‘i Raingutters to anyone.

I highly recommend Alaka'i Raingutters and Supplies! I am very frugal with how I spend my money, and I am confident I got more than my money's worth. Alaka'i wasn't the least expensive bid I had but they were the best value. They were polite, highly-motivated, professional and easy to work with. Alaka'i exceeded my expectations. I've already referred a friend.

Glen and his team worked up a professional quote and were able to handle the job all within a week. Fast, professional and on time.

Glen indicated that they would show at 8:30 a.m. and they arrived exactly on time.
There were three (3) employees total including Glen. They pulled all their equipment and got right to work in removing
the old cutters. They then installed the new cutters which took a total of approx. 4 1/2 to 5 hours total non-stop. They worked right through lunch.
They were really a team working together throughout the entire time - having fun but were very professional. My husband and I were very impressed with these three young gentlemen.
At the end, the walked our entire yard, picking up all the rubbish, nails, etc., and took all the rubbish with them.
We paid them at the end for the entire amount. No money was asked up front.
I would definitely recommend Alaka'i Raincutters and Supplies to everyone. We no longer have links on the four corners of our home and no noise from linking cutters.

EXCELLENT! Every aspect of dealing with this company was superb! The young man who owns this company came out the same day I called him, he said he was in the area, so he came out immediately. When he arrived, I was amazed with his professionalism and knowledge, as well as eagerness to do the job. He seemed to be quite young, but really seemed to know his work, so I gave him a try. Wow, I was glad I trusted my instinct, as he was terrific. The entire house needed new gutters. They fabricated the gutters and installed them very quickly. Our renters were very pleased and also impressed with the workers and workmanship. This owner knows what he's doing, and will go far, I'm sure! He goes the extra mile for the customer! I give him 5 stars!!

I had previously contacted 3 rain gutter companies to do the work on my house. They all sent someone out to look at the job and work up a bid. None of the 3 got back to me with a bid. I couldn't understand how these people stay in business.
I signed up for Angie's list and looked at the reviews and was impressed by what I saw for Alaka'i Raingutters. I called up and asked to get a bid. The next day Glen came out to look at the job and I had a bid e-mailed to me that evening. I decided to schedule the work and Glen was able to fit me in within 7-10 days. The team arrived as scheduled and completed the job that same day. All of the old gutters were hauled away and the clean-up job was well done. The new gutters look great and function very well.
A few day later I had a question about one section and Glen came back out to the house within a day or two to make sure that everything was installed correctly.

Workers arrived at 8:30 a.m. Started work right away. They took off all the old gutters in less than two hours. They then proceeded to make all the gutters and installed it in record time! They were very neat and picked up all of the waste before they left which was before 1:00 p.m. We were happy with the job they performed.

The original estimate by another contractor was much cheaper, but failure to provide a firm date to complete the job led to his recommendation of Alakai Gutters. They arrived promptly to give me their estimate, settled on an early date to do the work, arrived punctually and finished the work satisfactorily,in a very short time.

Glen showed up on time for the scheduled estimate. He explained exactly what he was going to do. On the day of the work, Glen and his team arrived on time. They had to detach the fabricator from the truck to make it fit in the work area. They removed old gutter and then installed all the new gutter and downspouts. Total work time was about 6 hours. Glen and his partner were polite and professional from start to finish. I would use them again and recommend them for rain gutter work.

They came out and gave us an estimate and then we set up a time for them to install. They did a great job in every aspect.

Responded quickly to request for estimate and likes others performed work to complete satisfaction within a few days. Addressed our questions and integrated with existing system in professional manner - color match, etc... Also repaired a couple leak issues with existing system. As with other reviews, estimate was reasonable, so did not feel need to get others. Very satisfied!

Alaka'i Raingutters and Supplies was very responsive. We set up a date and time for the estimate on the first phone call. However, there must have been confussion on the date and time, because Glen did not show up when we arranged for the estimate. When I called, Glen was very professional on the phone and said he would stop by before starting the next job. I do not know if the mistake was on his side or mine, but Glen made it right and that is a rare thing here in Hawaii. He e-mailed the estimate in a timely manner and called to verify that I recieved his estimate. I received estimates from 4 companies ($1178, $1823, $1150, and Alaka'i completed the job for $994). For the price and service, Alaka'k is impressive and very highly recommended.
