Well, I moved to Honolulu in June 2010 and found myself in a place where I knew no one and didn't have a reliable form of transportation other than the buss. The buss system here is great, but my commute was over 2+ hours per day so I started digging around Craigslist for an affordable scooter / moped. I also ran through most of my savings without a solid job out here until late July so I really needed to keep things on the cheap. Anyway, found what I thought was a gem on Craiglist from a cool, informative guy just down the street. Basically it was a TNG scooter with super low miles (372km) that had been sitting out in the elements for about 5-6 years. I figured for $100 bucks, it was a deal since it still ran and needed some maintenance to get it up to speed. I immediately took it to the nearest shop to me which happened to be Da Motorsports off the Kam highway near Pearl City... The owner, John, greeted me nicely and told me he could get the bike tuned up and running but that I should know that bikes that sit outside, even with low mileage, can have much worse problems and cost more to repair than bikes with high mileage that get used more frequently. I understood this and asked him to have a look at it and see what it would take to get me running safely and reliably. From that day forward, John called me about every update and basically got a hunk of junk running really well in about 2 days. I had no previous experience with a scooter so when I came to pick it up, he gave me some basic pointers before I gave it a test and sent me on my way. I drove it for a couple of days and on my way to work on the 3rd day it stalled. BUMMER. I called him up and we walked through the symtoms on the phone. It was smelling like gas and idling funny and seemed to be choking. I had to get to work, so I locked it up and returned to it starting but still running a little weak. I drove home on the NImitz and stalled out about 1/2 way home. BIG BUMMER. I still had about 5 miles to go and couldn't get it started again. Basically, I had to push for a long way and then gave up at the hilly parts and called my fiance who borrowed a truck and came to scoop me and the scooter up. I was aggravated but also couldn't help but think that it would be impossible for these guys to flush out every possible issue this old bike could have in just a couple days among their other work. I called John the next morning, he had lots of family in town visiting for a couple weddings and he put aside his family responsibilities and sent his mechanic to my house to pick up the scooter and bring it back for further tuning and inspection. I'm a skeptic when it comes to good guys doing work and sales but this guy is THE EXCEPTION. He had his guys rip it all apart and start from scratch and when I picked it up the following day, it was running with more acceleration and a faster top speed! He explained everything that had to be done and the part that stunned me the most was that he did it for FREE! I'm assuming he felt bad about the first experience and wanted to create a happy customer who would hopefully tell others about his good deed. So that's what I'm doing. John and his master mechanics deserve your business. They're newly in business but I would give them a chance to make you a happy customer like me. -PG

I bought a moped brand new from this guy. A month and a half later after getting two oil services from my moped breaks down. So brought it back to him to get it fixed under warranty. He agrees to do the work at no cost to me and takes about a week. I've never heard of any one needing a week to fix a moped. Come to find out the moped I bought was actually manufactured in China and not in Taiwan (where the quality moped are made) so parts take a while to get shipped over. Meanwhile I'm out of transportation till then. When I finally get my moped back I mention to this guy, John, that the brake feels really tight in the front. He just tells me, "Its better that way." Not really in a position to argue and crunched for time I thought nothing of it the left with my moped. Exactly one week later I was on my way to work when the front brake locks up and I end up in a front end collision with a street curb. And now the guy doesn't want to do any repair to my moped even though his repair technicians were the last ones touch or tamper with the braking system. I will never go to this dealer again. He is con artist and a cheat. I will be filing a lawsuit against him.
