He talked me into doing an hourly wage on my remodel of my condo - verses giving me a bid. I wanted a bid but.....He said he would give me details of work done each day, said he was very detailed in keeping records of what was done and hours worked. I would end of paying less. Said he was very honest! Then when it came time to paint he waned to bring in a painter, I said I want a bid if other workers are involved. He gave me a bid! I accepted. He never finished the painting. The painters walked off since he didn't pay them. I paid him when the job was half done, like an idiot!! The first week, he was very good, gave me details of work done each day and hours worked but then the following weeks, just listed hours work, no details of work done. I would stop by at night and see nothing more completed and he charged 8 hours. I asked him for details like he promised and he said that would be extra for office work?! He brought on another person to help him finish the job and charged me double. Then when the project was almost done, he said please give me payment in full and he would finish the paint job on his own time, he owed that to me. I told him I would not pay until he finished the job. He promised if I paid the money in full he would be there that day with the painter to finish. But just took the money and walked off the job. The painting was not completed , which I paid for already . He is not a good/honest person that he kept claiming! I had to get another company in to finish the painting - which I had already paid for!! STAY away from him!!
