Great response from vet assistant for immediate relief for animals while waiting for appointment with vet. Accepted the information I was giving as relevant and accurate. I felt a participant in our dogs care rather than a bystander. Treating for a topical problem rather than the allusive "allergies" or thyroid deficiencies was much more appropriate, time saving, money saving and most important, gave more immediate relief to the dogs.

I haven't gone there in a while so it's nice. The price is very reasonable.

I explained that I had a cat that had come to me as kitten and I thought he might have tapeworms, after answering a few questions she gave me the correct dosage, explained how to give them and told me me they should take tare of his problem. Because of the Hurricane and the death of my companion I was unable to have a repeat office call for my cat and gave him to a friend and moved to the mainland. She was very thoughtful and seemed concerned in his care.

I've been taking my dogs to Kilauea Vet since I got them, the oldest 3 years ago. They are wonderful people, all definitely animal lovers, and will do everything they possibly can for the animals and their owners. This is the first time I've had dogs that actually LIKE going to the doctor's office! Even the micro-chipping and blood-draw for my very nervous 2-year-old went smoothly: I don't think he even noticed. I always learn something new about animal care because the doctor is so good about educating owners who are interested. They are also very supportive in helping owners be able to afford the best preventative care possible, advising openly about cost and efficacy.

Dr Seeske is a text book perfect "country vet". She's intelligent, compassionate, thorough and thoughtful. This is small town veterinarian working in a clinic without much equipment, or technology available and still able to handle most everything from exotice birds to livestock- with the majority of clients needing "small animal" (dog and cat) care. In this respect she's WONDERFUL!. Lately the area's been growing with more demands on the professional providers. The prices have increased substantially although still no Xray machine, or other technology available. If you need technology you'll drive further into Hilo or Kona. Dr Seeske is a talented surgeon also, available and responsive to client needs. For routine care, and country vetting - She's as good as they come. ONe of the attributes that impressed me the most about Dr Seeske several years ago- was an emergency surgery on a dog who while hiking in the rain forest over a holiday weekend was atacked by a wild boar, and required immediate emergency repair surgeries. dr. Seeske spent hours debrading and repairing tissue damages. After which she had the lack of "ego" to suggest that perhaps a specialist could offer some more alternatives in the next day, after she had stabilized and completed the urgent care. this impressed me tremendously, Many other Vets would insist that if they couldn't succeed at a procedure, it wouldnt be a reasonable request. In this case we were trying to avoid amputation of a dogs tail. i couldnt hardly recommend her highly enough. it is however important for the customer to know in advance this is not a high tech super equipped animal hospital such as would be found in suburban or urban areas.

The most recent trip to the vet involved our parrot. Manu needed a wing clip and nail clip and Dr. Seeska and her staff were so gentle and thorough with our little guy. They are always very interested in how our pets are thriving and you can depend on them for advice and to always be there when you need them. They talk to your animals and treat them like they are people. GREAT VET!
